Why does my male friend always lift me up?

I have a good friend who's a guy. He's real kind & sweet & protective. I really like that about him too.

Whenever I see him, it's like he can't resist the urge to pick me up off the ground& embrace me. We're just friends, no romance. He tells me constantly I'm cute. And I kinda like him, but he won't date me on account of him being 2 years older. I'm very slim & I am about average height for my ages, so I guess I'm not difficult to lift. I'm not complaining at all, don't get me wrong.

It's just, he's not the only guy who likes to pick me up.. Why is this? What satisfaction do men get out of lifting me or any girl up?

I don't know. It's just something done out of affection. I guess it's like picking up a cat. You just gotta. There's not a lot to be got from it. It's just a way of showing affection. A way to have fun. I don't think there's a lot of thought out of it.

As for why he's always telling you that you're cute, Maybe he just thinks you're cute. It certainly fits with the whole picking you up thing. Still if you like him and you think there's anything there at all, I would suggest just going for it. He may not have expressed interest before, but he might go for it now. so just make a move, maybe plant one on him and take a chance. At the worst case scenario, it'll just be one awkward moment you took a chance on, and things can slip back to normal soon enough.

Picking up a cute girl is partially just part of a good hug. Guys like to let girls know that they are cared for and depending on the girl we can be very protective of them. We know that girls like the feeling of security and picking a girl up is just an add on of telling her "I love you and you can trust me". Of course that love in your case would be just a deep caring for you, not the same boyfriend girlfriend "I love you".

I don't think it happens to all girls. He thinks you look cute and he kinda feel tempted to lift you and hug you. That's all about it, I suppose.
