Guys, would you get territorial and over-protective if you DIDN'T want a relationship?

We're just friends, but we talk, text, and hang out almost everyday. I'm not interested, but I KNOW he likes me. There is an article here with a bunch of tell tale signs and I said yes to almost every one. He asked me if I like him, but he's always informing me that he's not into me "like that" but I'm in a LDR and not interested in him. He gets really over-protective over me when we are at the clubs and down town, like he doesn't let me out of his site and even follows me outside when my boyfriend calls. If the club gets busy and he can't see me from the dance floor he will come back and sit with me until he can see the floor from the table. And when I have other guy friends around, he gets really territorial and even tries to compete with them even if they are not in to me. But when we are alone, he acts just like a friend should. He has never made a move. He will hug me and sometimes pokes me or leans on me, but that's it. I'm not getting any signs he wants sex either, but he almost never touches me unless my other guy friends are around.

I cut him out. He got real clingy yesterday and practically demanded my attention over the phone and said the "L" word to me and it's been only like 3 weeks.

He wants you and if you are truly loyal to your boyfriend you will tell him your not interested so he backs off...because honestly he is the jealous type (if you get together with him and you give other guys hugs he will give you a hard time), and you need to stop hugging the guy, seriously the more you get close to him the more he will be attached to you, don;t play with his emotions if you don;t want him (keep your distance!).

He knows I'm not interested. We both said up front neither of us was interested in the other. He knows I'm happy with the man I got and he hasn't made any moves on me. We just friends. My Boyfriend is OK with giving hugs to say hello and goodbye, because I was like that with him when we were still just friends.

Fair enough but by the way he behaves he wants you lol. how can he say he is interested when you told him your happy with your bf? how often does he text you or call you?

Everyday. Tells me his plans, when he wakes, and when he sleeps. And I guess since my Boyfriend isn't here most guys would try to use that to get the girl to leave their BF.

Yes he wants to know your daily plans so he can adjust his accordingly. Look yes you are right...and since your Boyfriend is not here he wants a lot of hugs ;) and wants to give you love and show you that he sticks around more than your Boyfriend does (to show you that he is more caring)...Word of advice, never drink alcohol near that guy and stop giving him hugs. he is making a lot of progress tho lool.

I don't drink anyway and I don't go out alone with him to place where there isn't a lot of people, and I also have other guy friends that I check in with when I'm going out who know where I will be and who will come to look for me if I don't come back home or check in by certain times. They all know where he lives be he don't know where I live. And he sharing a room with a girl he's friends with so he don't really have a way to take me home with him but yeah I know if he wants it bad enough

he will try to no matter what, so yeah I'm gonna be more careful if I'm around him again. Because he just messaged me when I woke up saying he misses me and it's only been like 8 hours, so yeah he getting more obsessed.

He is attached, and you need to ignore him to show him you don't care. Sounds like love can be blind, lol cos by the way he is dropping his words sounds like he totally ignores the fact that you have a boyfriend and you love him. I'm telling you drop the hugging habbit (say your boyfriends doesn't like it) (body to body contact causes some people's hormones to rocket. you know what I'm sayin). But good you should 'never' sit alone with that guy to let him blame his action on being drunk!

Sorry I'm not trying to scare you I'm just telling you, I seen that happen b4, and its goes nasty...Sometimes its a guy enemy thing, he might have problems with your boyfriend and want to get him or just a group of idiots want to make life hard for him by sayin 'i shagged his chick'...so you just need to show how loyal you are to your man. No I wouldn't be protectice of a girl I'm not interested in I might tell her my opinion but I'm not going to get in a fight over her unless somebody like hits her in front of me but id do that for a male friend too

Its possible its just a big brother thing. I've had a male platonic friend for 20 years and he has always watcched out and been protective of me, but we are just friends, so I do think its possible

He acts like I'm his whenever I have other guy friends around, and they all know already that I'm taken.
