If a shy guy all of a sudden acts confident. Does it make him seem fake?

So I've always been on the quiet side but I recently had a epiphany and I realized that life is too short to be scared of talking to people (especially girls). Before I've always felt talking to girls was like a chore that I didn't want to do but had to if I ever wanted a girlfriend. And now for the first time in my life I actually actually WANT and look forward to talking to girls. So next Monday I want to start this new chapter in my life and start talking to women that show some interest in me but have never talked to. The only concern I have is that people will think I'm fake or on drugs or something for the sudden personality change. What do you think?

Act confident, and expose yourself to the world. There's truth to the saying, "fake it till you make it" because when you fake it, you're putting yourself in situations you wouldn't have otherwise, desensitizing you to things you were previously afraid of. It's good that you had an epiphany, now you have to remind yourself everyday to do this, and not let yourself get in a slump during this process of "acting confident." Once you develop real confidence you won't have to remind yourself anymore, because in a sense, you've re-wired your brain to think confident automatically. Do you and don't let haters get you down.

In a month or so people will have forgotten. And once in a while people will be like 'wow, remember how jz_817 used to be, all shy? hahah crazy'

It's okay to have an epiphany & change for the better for yourself! Who cares. :) That's not fake it til you make it...because you changed, right? And feel it?
