Why are men so protective of women?

Guys, why are you all so protective of your friends that are girls, girlfriends, wives, sisters etc.?

Its in our psychological nature. Its how we're programmed.

In most of the animal kingdom, males are the protectors of the family and herd. As members of the animal kingdom, humans are the same way.

Guys tend to care about three female relationships...females within the family, females within the social group, and of course, and most notably, a mate. Overall, its just how we are. We don't like it when other guys hit on our sisters because we're her protector. We're protective over female friends because we care about them. And, were MOST protective over our gfs, fiances, and spouses because psychologically, they're our territory.

Before you think that comment was sexist, it works both ways. Girls see us as theyre territory as well lol.

If you wanna notice something cool, walk into any restaurant and notice couples and how theyre sitting. If you pay attention, you'll notice the guy often has his back to a wall, or the least space behind him. Its programmed in us to be aware of our surroundings. You'll notice the same thing if you see a mom with her kids.

Some are and some aren't. My sister can do whatever she wants I don't care, cept bad drugs I don't want to see her hurt. I love my girlfriend one day to be wife, and my mother I only have one mother ^^!

Likely out of either objectification or natural human instinct not male instinct to those in need or those seen as weak(er).

Though I highly doubt generally men are protective of women rather than some men are protective of women usually only those the care about or want to have sex with.

In my experience, even with women who I have not been emotionally attached to or had interest in, for some reason in the back of my mind every time I see something happen to them it is like a trigger. You can so easily go from passive to aggressive and not realize it. It's hardwired into our brains.

So as in a random stranger? Yes I guess I'd feel more inclined to help her out than if it were a man.

sometimes it can be possesiveness based from insecurities but the good men are protective of the things they care about most, it's just a chemical reaction, instincts
