Why do men feel protective of the women that they love?

Because, for all of human history until VERY recently (post-WWII), such women would usually be our wives and the mothers of our children, and if we didn't protect them, they could be injured or killed or stolen from us, and our line would die out. It's a very base-level survival imperative, and if we didn't have it, humans would have gone extinct.

Hundreds of millions (or more) of men have given their lives to protect their women throughout history, and more have sustained injuries (sometimes being maimed for life), or been imprisoned or even tortured in an effort to protect their women. That's our job - one of them, anyway. Sadly, it's one that doesn't seem to be appreciated very often, or given much respect - it's just expected of us these days.

We are weird that it’s ok to be protective it’s not d so ok to be overprotective of them because it tends to make it look like she’s your property. But protective it’s normal kinda me with my ex til this day if I talk to her I ask her if she has enough water for the day. Remind importance of water. When we broke I knew I wasn’t going to talk to her as much so I wanted to choose wisely who she gave her time and energy to. Made as comfortable enough that if ever needed my advice or sone one to venti was only 10 digits away
