Why won't my guy friend hug me?

We're pretty close and like he pats my head all the time... And we're super friendly with each other... But why won't he hug me?...

if he hugs no one else, he's probably not comfortable hugging. f he hugs others & not u. he probably likes you -more than a friend. or he doesn't like you -more than a friend.. in either case, he doesn't want you to think he does like you-more than a friend..

do you mean you go to hug him & he pushes you away? or do you mean, he does not initiate. if its B. & he's important to u. then you go hug him.

Therefore, all she had to do was hug him, & he'd know she _likes_ hugs.

Maybe he thinks you're not comfortable with being hugged. I know some dogs that dog like being hugged. link

It might only be he's not a hugging type - seen him hug other people?

If he does, he might feel that's too intimate(silly I know) for you.

Patting the head seems silly, it's normally done with kids.
