i think this was a great attempt at putting your thoughts out there, and you had a pretty respectful way of going about it. of course, some people are always going to poop all over your opinions, ESPECIALLY when you're a vegan because everyone has it in their heads that EVERY SINGLE VEGAN has only one mission in life and it's to convert everyone to vegans. i'm a vegetarian. i'm actually mostly vegan but i do eat the occasional greek yogurt, eggs, milk in my coffee, and cheese is my weakness that i binge on a few nights a week unfortunately. maybe someday i will be vegan. but anyway, i do agree that veganism is good for the animals and good for your health. i know some people are very gung-ho about the ketogenic diet which blows my mind but i guess to each their own. and a lot of people don't actually understand why veganism is better for animals which also confuses me. but anyway, sorry i'm just kind of rambling. but good take and good try haha :p
I disagree with veganism. All humans require meat. That's just how it is. However, I think that meat shouldn't be consumed daily. 3-4 times a week is more than enough.
Many vegans can be healthy without supplements (or at least healthier than a person who follows a SAD). Plus, if you actually tried to eat meat the way actual omnivores ate it you'd probably die of food poisoning within a week.
@adquidorator "truth", okay honey. I don't have time to argue with people like you who feel they are all that and a bag of chips just because they don't eat meat (but you do eat mussels, so I don't see how you are any better). I'll stop responding now. Bye bye.
vegans don't live longer you're comparing a very specific group of people (vegan) to a very diverse group of people (meat eaters). So with vegans we will see a very accurate mean with a very small standard deviation, but with meat eaters you will see a very inaccurate means with an extremely high standard deviation. Because people who eat meat vary some only eat meat, and live off sticks of butter and have never seen a vegetable. others eat moderate amounts, and will also a result be healthier people. Stop over generalizing.
"On average, vegans live 10-15 years more than people who eat meat, and are far less likely to get a heart attack or have a high blood pressure."
The worst thing about being an accountant is you know how numbers work. I'm willing to bet this is garbage simply based on the size of the groups; smaller groups tend to have higher averages because they are small, or rather, more extreme averages, so producing a 10~15 year difference is massive, so much so that it would literally shift the national average lifespan, and if considered worldwide, the whole human lifespan by up to +2 years.
true, but there is a lot of cholesterol, e. g. the eggs and cheese and stuff. I'd have thought vegan stuff would be helpful for cutting the fat but then I don't really know much about bodybuilding diets I am just interested to find out.
@the_rake I ate nothing but high fat meat and eggs a couple years ago, without counting calories (but typically 2-3000 a day), and I was the skinniest I've ever been in my life, without exercise.
@Anno_Domini yeah but unless you're a humongous bodybuilder like constant your body is going to b respond in a different way. Still I will just have to take the word of the guy that competes professionally - cutting down the fat from enormous calorific surplus to improve muscle tone right before a show.
@Anno_Domini It's the sugar/carbs that makes your blood stick to the artery walls. No they do not, research proving to the contrary. Whole grains protect against heart disease.
@the_rake Basically its ketogenic diet. Instead of glucose primary fuel, body switches to burning fat as secondary fuel, as there is not much glucose to burn.
@the_rake Glycogen is just our energy store, its broken down into glucose. Its processed sugar or refined flour etc. Not sugars in their natural form. Fruit are full of sugar, high in fructose. Yet no negative effects rather the opposite. Hence to eat 9 portions of fruit and veg.
You could also do that using soy spiraling nutritional yeast pea protein powder... toucan have a solid protein diet and be vegan. Your meat diet... did you poop at all during That year?
Agreed I'm doing it for ethical reasons the more you understand evolution and your place within the animal kingdom the less you can construct walls to avoid feeling empathy. However being that the majority population are meat eaters my guess is your suggestions won't be so well received. Also as for the whole " vegans are attention seekers how do you spot one? Don't worry they will tell you" is complete b. s. As a guy who has fairly " macho" friends I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone and keep it on the low.
Let me ask you this: If we didn't EAT these animals, that are bred PURELY for life in domestication, what do you think would happen to them, these billions of farm animals where we have no other place for?
1. The Meat Industry has always had this problem and it's one I'm hoping will be solved, but I'm not going green for it. 2. So you're saying if I don't enjoy some of the best foods on Earth and torture myself, I might live to 100? 3. These animals cannot go anywhere else. The only option is to eat them, otherwise we'll just, what? Let them go? And have them either outcompete native species or just die off themselves? Where's your genius plan? And what about plants, those which are much more beneficial to your atmosphere?
The Meat Industry is a corrupt, horrible thing, and needs to be changed, yes. But meat is delicious, meat is healthy, if eaten right, and it's one of the best foods, in my opinion. OH YEAH, AND VEGETABLES ARE FUCKING GROSS
In the animal kingdom most animals have always eaten other animals are you going to start preaching to them next? Their sacrifice is so I can live I'm diabetic and theirs not enough nutrition in vegan to sustain me versus meat. Do these animals contribute anything to society besides food? No they don't have much feelings and I don't think they even care if their killed or not. "On average, vegans live 10-15 years more than people who eat meat, and are far less likely to get a heart attack or have a high blood pressure." Source?
Actually 75% of all animals are herbivores and she isn't "preaching" if she wrote her view on the topic on a post that you WILLINGLY CHOSE TO READ!!! "Do these animals contribute anything to society besides food? No they don't have much feelings and I don't think they even care if their killed or not." Uhuh and have you ever heard of a little something called the Cambridge declaration on consciousness?
@adquidorator " she isn't "preaching" if she wrote her view on the topic on a post that you WILLINGLY CHOSE TO READ!!!" That is a meaningless argument, I don't have to like what I read.
Funny how you have a picture of a cow with her calf in what appears to be very nice pasture... I'm sure some people treat animals like shit but you can hardly put everyone in the same category, not sure if you've actually seen farms in real life like I have, but at least here in Manitoba our cows are treated well, regardless of if they're beef or dairy, massive fields with fresh grass for all.
I typically don't eat a lot of meat because it's expensive. But it is a good source of protein. Soybeans can contain high levels of plant estrogen which I think is not good to eat a lot of? Anyway, the only reason I'd choose to steer clear of meat is all those artificial hormones and antibiotics they constantly pump through them, and also the effect the livestock industry has on the environment.
The Ecosystem works in a particular way to stop overpopulation of a species and extinction of another. Humans are naturally omnivores, we produce acids which digest meat. If you told a lion to go vegan the amount of plants would run out and the gazelles, antelope, rhinos and also lions would die 😭
I prefer the meat I harvest myself. There's no chemicals in them. Birds are my favorite. Pheasant, quail, partridge and grouse. Yummy! Plus my dogs (2 yellow labs) are amazing on the hunt. So smart, they out smart the birds and find them for me. I love being out in nature and there will always be hunting so learn to live with it. My culture is different than yours. That doesn't make me bad or evil, does it?
Dude , meat is tasty, looks and tastes delicious, vegans are dumb, weak and stupid people they have no idea what theyre missin on, more meat for us i guess, whats next? giving every cow an Ipad and teaching Pig to solve math equations? get real people, the years are passing and the people are getting dumber and more pussier with time, man the fck up please.
Of course notwithstanding she put her view on a take that you WILLINGLY CHOSE TO READ.
Honestly, don't people realize that when they complain about vegans trying to push their views on a webpage that you chose to view and you say things like "shut the fuck" all you're doing is making an ass of yourself.
Shut the fuck up bcz vegan sounds while we wanna do what we do bcz we don't care... right? It's funny some people try to be nice forgot about being nice with other species... also the species which came way before humans itself!
I have no misunderstanding that u do care dear :) my only point is when we can get advertisement about Mc Donald's beef or sth sth... then y vegan advertisement bothers u? Diffrence in opinion is okay... the only logical explanation is that u know vegan speaks right but u r too deeply into something that u can't change even if u know it's wrong. Rest is urs wish.. I don't criticise people who are non vegan.. :)
@rocccky I wasn't talking about vegan advertising thier food , but I am talking like let's say your a vegan and I eat meat we go to restaurant and we eat you order what u want I order what I want I don't have to hear you preaching me about meat that's the kind of thing I was talking about
Dude.. I don't know about urs.. but the opp is rather true and even more intense😂... whenever I go in restraunt wth frnds I can't order vegan without hearing the protein lecture, about food chain and who is on th top, about how we have canine teeths , and sometimes even as stupid as plants also feel pain talk😂😂😂. Sorry if any vegan gave u hard time 😂, but it's not the property of vegan people, it's just may be Ur frnds are little noisy😂
While I agree that some of the treatment of animals raised for food is not ethical you can buy meat/seafood that is not injected with hormones and is raised cage free/ethically.
Also if you do go vegan you'd better be buying all organic fruits and vegetables, because the non organic is chocked full of hormones as well.
it is a well known fact that vegans are always on supplements because they mis out nutriets that are in meats and shellfish which are necessary to be healthy. i dont have access to these supplements at all times, and they can be expensive.
I've been thinking about how good it would be to get some buffalo meat and venison for over a week. Thanks for giving me the last push I needed : D *thumbs up *
You do realize that posting crap like that (showing that you can do something when someone posted a take trying to convince you to do something that you willingly clicked and chose to read) is only showing how insecure you are with your own actions (and I know because I was once in your shoes)?
Buffalo is great. My town borders on the Shoshone/Bannock reservation and they hunt buffalo and sell the meat. It's a lot like beef but it's still a little different, a tiny bit gamier but great. I've eaten a lot of deer, I've only got one deer but it was great some other is very gamey and not good. Try some elk and moose, they're good too.
@adquidorator I wouldn't call it baseless, considering you replied a similar response to about half the comments on this post. It's a reasonable assertion, but yes it does not refute anything you said... that aside. Your assertion actually is baseless.
I made no assertions, I only stated facts. As for hearing myself talk, well if I did that all I would do is write mytakes instead of engaging in dialogue.
Lol yeah his opinion is totally correct... to him. Can't argue with someone that is totally correct, can you? Our cultures are different and neither is right or wrong. They're just different.
Lol every time I run into someone like this, it makes me think of that south park episode where they move to San Francisco and how the people there are so snobby and think they're better than everyone else cuz the drive hybrid cars and they smell their own farts cuz they're so stuck on themselves. Lol, it makes me laugh every time.
@SüßeJäger You're calling me "snobby" when you're the one with your head stuck so far up your own ass that you would think that satisfying your taste buds could justify killing a sentient animal ROFLMFAO

Except other vegans (especially the ones who think they are superior).
And since when did somebody not caring about something make it OK?
NEWS FLASH: Truth isn't determined in mass appeal.
@adquidorator "truth", okay honey. I don't have time to argue with people like you who feel they are all that and a bag of chips just because they don't eat meat (but you do eat mussels, so I don't see how you are any better). I'll stop responding now. Bye bye.
Lol, that made me laugh.
That animals can feel like we can is a truth that has been agreed by the world leading neuroscientists.
FYI, non vegans do care :)

And, if you read my comment, I NEVER SAID I HAD ABSOLUTE TRUTH. I just said that people not caring about something doesn't mean it's not important -_-

Yeah, that's probably bollocks.
My pre-contest, summer cutting diet I'm on rn is literally anti-vegan. Meat, eggs, cheese, etc low low carbs. Animal products only lol
you use that to cut?
@the_rake high protein, low carb. Keto
true, but there is a lot of cholesterol, e. g. the eggs and cheese and stuff. I'd have thought vegan stuff would be helpful for cutting the fat but then I don't really know much about bodybuilding diets I am just interested to find out.
@the_rake check out articles on keto diets, bodybuilding. com has great content
@the_rake I ate nothing but high fat meat and eggs a couple years ago, without counting calories (but typically 2-3000 a day), and I was the skinniest I've ever been in my life, without exercise.

@the_rake the cholesterol doesn't matter on a low carb diet. It's the sugar/carbs that makes your blood stick to the artery walls.
@Anno_Domini fair dos, I will have to read more on the subject.
Do you stay under 20g carb a day?
@OrdinaryGentleman not that low like 100-150
@Anno_Domini It's the sugar/carbs that makes your blood stick to the artery walls.
No they do not, research proving to the contrary. Whole grains protect against heart disease.
@the_rake Basically its ketogenic diet. Instead of glucose primary fuel, body switches to burning fat as secondary fuel, as there is not much glucose to burn.

there's other - more damaging - kinds of sugars besides glucose. glycogen is the main one you've got to look out for.
@the_rake Glycogen is made of glucose. Our bodies produce glycogen, it's not harmful.
@nog642 yeah I know, I was getting glucose mixed up with fructose.
You could also do that using soy spiraling nutritional yeast pea protein powder... toucan have a solid protein diet and be vegan. Your meat diet... did you poop at all during That year?
@Azara Lol, there's specific reasons why male fitness fanatics don't consume soy
