It's Not Fat Shaming, It's Science: Slimmer Women Are More Biologically Appealing

Science shows that 'evolutionary fitness' makes slimmer females more appealing.

Because slim bodies are instinctively associated with youth, fertility, and health.

Our natural animal instinct find thinner women attractive because they associate their body shape with youth, fertility and a lower risk of disease. (The same reasoning behind women finding fit males attractive because it associates strength, protection, health, and fertility.)

It's not fat shaming it's science. Slimmer women are more biologically more appealing to both males and females.

A study by the University of Aberdeen found that 'evolutionary fitness' determines what we are attracted to inherently. Contradicting social science theories about humans being attracted to thicker body types because historically fat meant wealth, or they could historically survive a famine.

Researchers tested more than 1,300 people, both males and females, from 10 countries. Participants were shown 21 images of women with various levels of body fat and were asked to grade them on attractiveness.

In ALL the populations, both males and females rated physical attractiveness the same.

MEN AND WOMEN AGREE TAYLOR SWIFT HAS THE PERFECT BODY SHAPE. Like it or not.

The optimum fatness fell to a BMI between 17 and 20, which corresponded exactly to the images people found to be most attractive. This is the BMI range of most models and explains why this body shape is used to sell products, not fictional "the patriarchy" or sexism.

In evolutionary terms fitness is made up of two things: survival and the ability to reproduce.

We make our choices based on hard-wired evolutionary survival instincts, where we gauge our potential mate on their ability to survive and reproductive.

Scientists in another study, discovered the ideal female body shape was also leggy, tall and thin like Taylor Swift. A major study involving almost 60,000 volunteers rating almost 1,000 variations of the female figure discovered tall and slender is more attractive than curvy and hourglass-shaped.

A complex series of visual tests were conducted by researchers from the University of New South Wales in Sydney for the specialist journal Evolution and Human Behaviour.

They created computerized images of different female body shapes based on 24 basic factors from bust and butt size, to length of legs and waist circumference.

A first trial of 120 were rated by volunteers from all over the world. The 60 body shapes with the lowest ratings were eliminated. Each of the remaining 60 were then taken and a slight variation of each was added to create another 120 shapes.

Again, they were rated by volunteers and the bottom 60 eliminated and the process was repeated for eight trials. All in all a total of 960 different shapes and sizes were created.

What the researchers found was that in every trial, the 60 lowest rated body shapes were generally the fattest, shortest and roundest of the computerized figures.

By the end of the eighth trial, the highest rated female form was tall with a small waist and long, slender legs, a smaller bottom and smaller bust, with body mass index of around 19 were rated as most attractive, said the researchers.

So no matter how much it may bother those who don't fit the demographic, no matter how much you want to excuse being bigger, or shame being smaller, not matter how you try and justify or force the fat positive movement onto people.

Thin and small is biologically more attractive.

That does NOT mean you have to beat yourself up over not being thin and small, but stop trying to convince everyone that it's more than it is. Very few males look like David Beckham or Shemar Moore, but we are not trying to convince you that they aren't the pinnacle of male attractiveness, telling everyone that they need to accept fat men as sexy. We accept that they are the top shelf, we understand that we very likely won't obtain that standard.
