No, but fat people shpuld be shamed.
Trust me, that won't help. It won't make them thinner. They will learn to identify with their weight. They'll feel rejected and unloved and seek pleasure from things other than people, e. g. food.
Losing weight is extremely difficult. There is no magic formula that works for everyone. It can sometimes require an overhaul of one's entire life — shifting priorities, values, activities. You can come out the other end not recognizing the person you see in the mirror.
Remaining fat is easier, in a way. If you want to keep someone fat, shame them. Seriously. In fact, shaming is just a terrible idea in pretty much every instance. If someone identifies with something - fat, a political opinion, a lifestyle, whatever - shaming is the most effective way to make them double-down.
