Hello

Yes, it is time for you to start kicking some butts, today i will give my review of two types of fitness classes i have been taking for a while .Muay Thai and Spartan .

Muay Thai :

As the name suggest , it is a martial arts focused class, but not your usual class

Length : 45-50 minutes

1-20 minutes : Total workout , running , conditional workout ,focus on shoulders , legs and core using dumbbells and push ups , burpees and dead lefts (no weights ) to get your core ready for intense work.

21-40 minutes :It is time to kick some butt , you are to start practicing your jab and cross, for about four minutes in total , then you move on to the legs , front kicks right and left for about three minutes , you are set now , you choose a partner , and it is time to strike those those pads.

Yes those
Yes those

The trainer will give you a combination for you to strike , it depends on your level in the first 20 minutes how much he would give you, last time (was on Thursday) we used jab cross , elbow knee and front kicks , it was more advanced , and took a lot of focus and coordination.

Last five minutes : You will work your abs , the most awesome part is when the trainer hits on in the abs, that is when you feel alive , after that some stretching , and you are all done.

Class level : in the beginning it was about 4\10 , now it is about 7\10

Assessment :

It is really great, you are allowed to vent your feelings and stress , with every strike you land on those pads , it might be hard in the beginning but once you start to master your movements you will feel great seeing your self striking in the mirrors around you.

Results:

Shoulders , and shoulders joints will get much more improved , legs will get stronger and will lose fat in the legs (It will shape nicely ), It took me around 5 classes to get to the point of great from and good fighting stance.

Spartan :

After searching about it , sadly in our gym it is not the full experience , it misses a lot of components due to the lack of equipment, like we don't have to climb or hang , we don't have those big tires to hit or lift too, but thanks to out trainer he makes it up in a smart way using weights to focus on upper body strength (which is the main difference between Spartan and Muay Thai )

conditional workout
conditional workout

1-20 minutes : We start with sprinting , some weight non stop training , dead lefts , burpees and squats , shoulder press, crazy and intense , might have 10 rounds to do in 10 minutes , and it is hell , and you sure can expect some push ups .

21-40 minutes : You will have to practice many different forms of fighting , not as same as Muay Thai , boxing, shadow boxing , with some other mixed martial arts, it is less complicated than Muay Thai and more focused on the basics of fighting, cross jab ,kick and round kick, no use of elbows or knees.

Last five minutes : You gotta work your abs again, core and some stretching.

Class level : in the beginning it was about 4\10 , now it is about 6\10

Assessment :

It is good though, more focused on cardio than martial arts and it is similar to Muay Thai , but less intense fighting and striking techniques.

Results:

Shoulders , and shoulders joint will get gets the most of the work , legs will get will get more loose (easier movement for striking) , and core will get more improved and stronger.

Last words: I always love taking fitness, although i am better at weights lifting , but that changed my view on fitness , you will have more energy , less injuries , and more friends since it is a group class, my favorite might be spinning , but i am going to keep taking these two, i now want to be more trained and have more muscles coordination, maybe on day i will become a fighter, it is necessary for our daily life too , to vent our negative feelings, and have more control on our self.
