Only the genes present in your body can make you commit suicide. According to a recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Association, there is a genetic link between suicidal ideation and behavior.More than 20% of people have a history of suicide.
The genetic code of each of the blood samples tested in the study was sequenced and compared with their medical history. It was found that more than 20% of the participants had ever thought about suicide or attempted to do so.
These 4 genes increase the risk of suicide.
ESR 1: This is the receptor for the estrogen hormone found in women. Previous research has linked it to depression and PTSD. PTSD is called post-traumatic stress disorder.
DRD 2: It is the receptor of dopamine hormone. This chemical has been linked to feelings of happiness as well as mood disorders and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD).
DCC: When it's high, people are more likely to commit suicide. It also causes disorders related to the nervous system.
TRAF 3: This is a receptor required to activate the immune system response. However, it is also associated with antisocial behavior and ADHD.
Every year 8 lakh deaths are due to suicides
Researchers say that with the information obtained from the study, we will be able to save more lives. According to World Health Organization (WHO) statistics, 8 lakh people commit suicide every year in the world. That is, one person is committing suicide every 40 seconds. Twice as many men commit suicide as compared to women. Suicide is the major cause of youth death.

I agree. Some assholes genetics towards someone will have that person think of suicide. Being a bully is in their genes because they want to be a bully. Right?
It looks like I have another paper to write.
Your DNA doesn't make decisions for you or others in your life.
It does, way more than most people understand.
DNA makes proteins. People are not robots, we are not slaves to our programming. We have agency
We are in many ways. People like to think that they have more agency and more control over these things than they actually do. There are certain things you can change, but many aspects of yourself are hard-wired, pre-programmed, unchangeable.
That is such a cop out. You need to accountability for your own actions.
It’s not a cop out, it’s just a fact. Thinking that DNA has no influence over your behaviour, your character, your true nature is naive, wishful thinking. You can take accountability for your actions while recognising this.
I took molecular biology and I know what your DNA does and, more importantly, doesn't do. Our genetics are such that we have a brain that is capable of denying our self animalistic impulses; thusly we are not bound to our DNA when it comes to decision making. We can make decision completely antithetical to our very nature. To suggest otherwise is to say that there is no difference between us and animals. And that all of human civilization is inherently pointless. We're just an ant colony on steroids.
