So a friend of mine brings over a girl to my house, we all went to the same high school but its been about 4 years or so. After a little drinking I look over at this girl and she looks back at me and we give each other a big smile, within a moments she's sitting next to me and rubbing her bare legs against my knee. after she'd been doing this for about 20-30 seconds I look at her and she give this smile and these consecutive downward glances at me, I'm sure at this point I go beat red (I'm not very experienced) she asks if I will show her the bathroom and we go upstairs and at the door she asks if I remember her. I told her I did and I turned around and walked back downstairs. I see her the next day and the first thing she says is "I was really drunk last night". Since then I seem to get mixed signals. She took a picture of just us and every once in a while we look at each other and smile. Should I just drop it, and chalk it up to drunk flirting?

No. If I were you I wouldn't get her drunk, but you may want to invite her over for some drinks with just you and she present. Some girls use their girl powers just to see if they can get you interested. Others use them to bust a move. She obviously likes drinking. If you can get her in the mood while sipping something you both like (different drinks are okay) have some good food ready to snack on. Definitely give her those glances and try to touch her hands and she if she responds in turn. If she allows little physical gestures to her hands, shoulders, tummy, try to kiss her lightly. If she allows you to embrace her make sure you are in a comfortable setting to see if she will let you lay down on the sofa. If so ask her if she wants more privacy and would like to go to your bedroom to cuddle for a while. Cuddle, caress, french-kiss, let your hands roam to he erogenous zones. Remember as long as she's willing to allow you to stimulate her your making progress. If she does then she'll tell when to stop you're advances or let you continue. It may take a few more dates before she let's you see her paradise. But go with it. And if you have any other gal-pals who don't mind hanging out with you, do in between seeing her again. Hang out and be seen with them. Ladies work on a pecking order and tend to want guys that are in demand. The key here is you don't know if she's a one-time lay or regular sex mate moving toward love. Some men and women need lots of compatible sex before they fall in love with their lover. You may be the guy.

Humiliated, she used the "I was drunk" excuse to try and cover her shame over your rejection of her advances.

Since then she is still attracted but no longer confident enough to try and approach you as she figures you will just humiliate her again.

Whether or not any of this was your intention is irrelevant. This sort of thing is why many women don't want to bother with shy men. It ends up too embarrassing for them as they have to really put themselves out there emotionally by behaving in a manner that might get them called a slut by their friends to try to get the shy guy they are attracted to. Then when the guy tucks tail and runs off all red-faced she is left feeling repulsive. After all it is "common knowledge" that a girl can get laid whenever she wants by being very obvious about her desire for sex. So therefore she will figure she has to be exceptionally ugly to not succeed when she does so.

If you actually do want her, you will have to eat some crow and take a risk for her. If you do not put yourself out there and risk humiliation in return she will just think you are making fun of her or playing with her emotions for your own amusement.

She was completely and totally interested in you but she had been drinking and anyone, girl or guy, can have a change of heart after they sober up. You should ask her out on a date. If you don't ask her out you will never know what she is thinking. And, yes, I know, we all hate rejection so we wait hoping the other person will do something that will tell us for certain but she has given you as much as a girl can reasonably do to show you she has interest. Ask her, don't take it personal if she says no, but I will bet that she will say yes.

She probably finds you attractive and wanted you to rail her out. Her saying she was drunk is just an excuse to be able to move past the rejection and make the situation less awkward.
