How to lose weight while on bedrest after surgery?

I had shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago and i'm still unable to exercise but I really want to lose weight. Will cutting my calories do it?

Without exercise you could try lifting your arms and legs up and rotate which limb you suspend in the air for minutes at a time. Then lift some heavy objects within your need. After that go into a push up position on your good arm and hold that position on your fist. Stretch a lot too.

Chilli peppers, oranges, apples, yogurt, low fat pork, turkey, chicken, etc can help to lose weight. Because of recent surgery, you don't need to do the physical exercise. Focus changing eating habit.

Cutting calories will do it. You need to cut 500 calories from your current calorie need. However, because you're on bed rest, it might just be safe to just work on eating a balanced diet.

Are you cleared for walking?

I can walk but not at a pace that I can actually burn calories because to do that your shoulders move back and forth.

Well, that's a pity >< Walking is good.

There's core work you can do that wouldn't move your shoulders. Like a lot of hip work in belly dance (and maybe some ribcage slides? You'd have to ask your doctor about that one). That keeps muscle mass up in addition to burning calories (plus all the benefits of stronger core muscles!)

You'd probably be best off getting private lessons to learn just that, tho -.-
