What you get is often what your remaining relatives want, so hope that they honor your wishes. There are documents that you can create/fill out that can allow you to direct pretty much what you want.
The cost is a major factor. Any kind of service costs just for the facility and personnel. Even the person's church will have lots of charges for a funeral or memorial. And we are talking about big bucks for a casket, full funeral, and cemetery plot. Ideas so far here seem to favor cremation and no need for a cemetery pot (as in scattering). So I offer up the idea of donating your body to science. Some uses would be organ transplants and the like, but those require very quick action and preparation prior to death (health history - written memories and lab work, etc.) But one use is to allow your body to be used as a cadaver for medical students. Preparation before death is helpful, but very quick and easy. Upon death a local funeral service will transport the body to the service you have chosen, which will put it to use for a few weeks, then cremate all that is left (some bits may be lost while performing various procedures) and return the cremains in a container to the designated person or facility. Further, if you are a veteran or spouse of one, your remains can be interred at a national cemetery at no charge.
If you are not concerned with what happens to your body after your death and want to spare your family the costs of dealing with your body, explore the possibilities of medical donation at www.google.com/search Somebody will have to deal with whatever funeral/memorial costs occur, but the worry of what to do and the costs of transporting, documenting, cremating, etc. are taken care of.

Probably buried in my family plot in the military section of the graveyard since my grandfather was a marine and most of my family are soldiers. If there is not enough room though cremation is fine I'll put a nice bronze grave marker there. Though on the upside this graveyard is extremely nice, ponds, trees, crypts and statues and has a nice open view of a kansas wheat field and sunset/sunrise.
I really don't care. Even if some creep buys my body and just has sex with it, why would I care? I'd be dead.
But I read there's the company that will put your remains with like a seed. And I kinda would like that. So then my ashes will grow and I'll be a tree like Trent in Legend of Mana (old video game reference). I guess that'd be my preference. I would prefer my body cremated or used to fertilize a seed or something. Return me back to the Earth. Or give it to some creep to bone, whatever lol

I don't care. They can just put me underground, use me for a research study, cut me into pieces, burn me, whatever. I don't need my body anymore. My soul is out of it.
Cremated, thrown in the face of a horny pigeon... ya know, chest all puffed out, trotting around all cocky... that'll dampen its day for sure
bury them.
Turn my ashes into this.

For scientific purposes.
If you don't specify in your will, then whatever the famiky decides on
It's not like I'll even know what they do with my remains. Burn me, bury me, feed me to dogs. I won't know.
I want to get burned ad scattered somewhere. I don't really care where. I'll be dead.
Cremation and buried in a little box in a quiet forest.
