When you lose a companion animal do you have them cremated so that you have their remains in some form?

I have had four companion animals, and have kept all of their ashes, and many pictures of the last one I lost after almost 19 years.

All three of our beloved pooches who have passed on are lovingly stored in urns :-)

I have Oliver's ashes in a very nice urn sitting on my 'mantel' surrounded with candles and yoga figurines.

All of ours are situated on an antique sewing table in our formal living room, with some unique collectibles that remind us of them. We were drawn on whether or not to bury them, I like the idea of taking them with us, wherever we move.

I too, like to have something of them, as I loved all of them, and they are as unique as each person. I took dozens of photos of Oliver in his lifetime, as he was a BEAUTIFUL gray with white paws, chest diamond and white belly. I have his pictures all over the house. to remind me. "Dustybiker" suggested I do that, as she said they do/did the same with lost companions.

P. S. I got Oliver at 8 weeks, old and fed him with a baby bottle, and watched him grow and mature, and in that respect he was very special

My heart is melting 🥰. Our beloved min pins (Tina snd Prince) and Labrador (chocolate, Yolo) are in our hearts forever! We have a black lab right now, Guster. DustyBiker is a wonderful person

I have him cremated. He’s in a nice box.

My brother said he has a small cemetery in his back yard for his beloved pets that have died. I have a grave stone that a prior girlfriend bought for mine canine, and I MAY bury all of them with that headstone.

Depends on the animal.

Buried my pet rodents. Flushed dead fish. Cremated my dogs to keep ashes.
