Girls behaviour change on the pill?

My girlfriend has been on the pill for at least 5 years purely for ache treatment.

I believe that this pill Jaz is effecting her behaviour and attitude. She is always short with me, nothing I do can be good enough anymore. In contrast how she was before this she is a different person. Notably I find it's little things that send her off on a rant.

Other than cooking dinner and eating she has very little interest in anything with me. She shows no love or affection. I'm beginning to find her very hard to live with. I find that i can't show her any love as it just gets thrown back at me.

Has any girls had any behaviour side effects on the pill and has any guys experienced this change in their partner?

Me and two of my previous partners nearly broke up because of the pill and the effects it had on me. I was totally apathetic to everything or ridiculously unhinged emotionally. I can be very hard, eventually I had to ditch any type of hormonal contraceptive and go for the IUD. Works great, no complaints, no mood swings etc. But - five years? Has she changed brand during that time? Has she always acted this way? It's a long time to be on the same medication and not address it, also a long time for you to be putting up with it if it's been going on for five years.

If it was the pill doing this, there's no way she'd stay on it for 5 years. It's not like we girls don't notice when we're being irritable and hormonal. And we don't like being that way.

Was she different before she went on the pill? So she's been short with you for 5 years? If this only sprung up recently, it's most likely something else. You should ask her what's on her mind. And for the love f goodness, DON'T suggest in any way that her hormones are to blame for her attitude. That invalidates her feelings and will detonate a bomb, I promise you.

When my girl went on I had something similar...

Major loss of sex drive, moody and grumpy! I guess it can happen, all those hormones.

Maybe get her to change pill, they all work, but some have more sides than others.

I know you said Jaz, but maybe its Yaz? I've been on Yaz for a while, aswell, and it does impact my mood, too. I've only been on it for about five months, but I've noticed that it makes me irritable, tired, hungrier than usual, and have a shorter temper. Just be patient with her :)

Added hormones can definitely cause mood swings at certain times of the month but you 2 might have other issues to work out if she is acting like that all the time

I've taken like three types of birth control, never tried Yaz, but I've never noticed a change in mood. The only time it happens is about a week before my period, but that's always been like that since even before the pill.
