Yes, this is also a random girl I found on tumblr on CurveAppeal. I'm not fishing compliments, haha.
I don't feel her body type is ideal for me. Everyone's ideal is different. I don't think there is a universal agreement on what the best body type is.
I say not ideal for me just because it is extremely hard for me to gain weight, so if I had her curves that would mean I was doing some very wrong things- just for my personal body. Like eating poorly, etc.
I have friends that look like her and they eat well and exercise so they're definitely healthy. women are built differently. As long as the person is healthy its ok!
I like her spirit. I like how she does what she wants to do. That makes her really confident and desirable.
She definitely isn't fat and I think many guys would find her very attractive. Many wouldn't but that's true with any body type.
I don't really get why some people share such reasonable opinions only as anonymous :p
I admit, I did not expect her to be "ideal" to everyone, but saying she's 20 lbs overweight and "fat" is just unreasonable.
lol I don't know it's just habit for me to hit the button :p
Yes I agree completely. She's really not. I see way more overweight people on a daily basis.
I think what the media makes to be "ideal" is either the Beyoncé curvy but fit type or the VS model type. I think that you might have gotten a lot of negative reactions because this honestly better than average girl was not people were expecting. Of course this girl has more fat on her than the supposed Hollywood "ideal"
I think they just have never seen a non-photoshopped woman in their entire lives, and think all females were designed to be size zero.
Just an idea for why you got the reactions you did. I wish people would stop hating on each other for their body types and just focus on being healthy and confident in themselves.
The fact that she wears the bikini regardless of her haters is really attractive. If I were a guy I would go for her lol
I feel you. The magazines and media make a size zero seem really common. This girl is well below average honestly.
I am a size zero but that is not common at all. I'm just naturally that way. Just be happy with yourselves people!
Right. I agree. This is technically just proof that people don't even know what counts as overweight and what doesn't anymore.
Sadly I don't think they ever did 😔
from reading all of your comments, I think The aims of this post is flawed. You are asking for other people's opinion, and yet to every answer that says "no it's not ideal" you reply in a way that kind of belittles their opinion. Everyone has a different standard of ideal. some people want more (or less in this case) from a woman's body. As to why you bothered posting this in the question forum astounds me. You should have put it in the other more informative one, titled: why I like women who have "curves"
To be honest, at first I was curious what other people thought, but after everyone called her fat even when she really isn't. I never expected this to be such a marvellous display of how people who claim skinnybashing is a problem are all hypocrites, considering she is not even fat, yet everyone is saying she should lose 20 lbs because she's "fat". This is the indication of a problem, you know.
That, and it's ironic because the image was originally put up on CurvyAppeal because she finally realized that instead of obsessing on losing weight unsuccessfully, she should just be happy with her body - then I see how much of an asshole the typical population is in the west, judgmental and claiming that everyone should be stick thin like a skeletal VS model.
To be honest, I did not expect this question to tick me off as much as it did.
I don't like the word "ideal" because that usually means it's something we should all have. I don't think we should all of her body or try to have her body.
She's a bit chubby, but she looks ok still. I wouldn't want to look like that though. I am short, so if I looked similar to that, I'd appear too "stacked". It works for her, though she could tone up a bit, but I don't think it'd work for me or naturally thin/petite women like me.
@Govannon7 there's a limit.
You shouldn't put ideal. Everyone's personal definition of ideal is different so. I think she's a nice size. I'm bigger than her but I'm also taller than her. It doesn't really matter what we think tho. It's her body and as long as she's confident and comfortable that's all that matters. And just because she's chubby (barely) doesn't mean she's unhealthy.
Yup. That makes sense.
Lol... I love how when I say I am fat (And I am, maybe even bigger than her) people here go all like "No you're not, it's just in your mind" or "I don't think so", yet they call this girl fat.
So. definitely not ideal, not fat, but she is chubby. And she doesn't look that bad, but hey, it's just my point of view.
What is my ideal is chubby? <3
Seriously though, I'm surprised myself about just how much bashing there is in this thread. Just look at Prettygurl12's comment, she's like ""well with that body, I wouldn't wear a bikini!!"" effectively saying that unless you're stick thin, you wearing a bikini is unacceptable, like what?
I think she looks pretty decent, although I really wish I saw her eyes for a complete evaluation :p
If she freaking wants to wear a bikini, she can. It's bashing like this that makes girls starve, or become bulimic or anorexic, or even worse, kill themselves. According to society, without a perfect skin or a Victoria's Secret model's body, you're not that great. And in her case, the girl is not even fat, and she doesn't look that bad in that bikini.
Exactly. This question is definite proof that the people here have an extremely skewed perception of what women actually look like. I'm disappointed, especially because I like her overall posture.
p. s.: I don't find Victoria Secret models attractive, they're too thin XD
She's just chubby. Chubby is not "ideal" but it can still be attractive and acceptable. I feel sorry for guys who would turn a woman down because of 20 pounds of extra weight.
Sure, she would look better if she lost a little weight but it's not like she's repulsive and undatable.
Some guys weighting 300-400 pounds are probably all like: "Eeewww I ain't dating a chubby girl. Being healthy is too important to me!" smh
I think she has at most 12 lbs of extra. That 20 lbs is totally arbitrary. I think she looks hot already, so it's kinda weird to me that people are so negative.
Basically ^^^
Chubby isn't the best body type, but it's not the worst. It looks ok on her. Though I don't know if it'd look ok on other chicks, like me lol
I don't like the concept of "idolizing" one body type. Not thin, not curvy, not fat, not chubby, etc. Because no one should strive to look or be built like others.
@asker, I think it's a lot more than 12lbs extra weight. A lot more than 20lbs also
I'm 4'11 and 130+lbs. I look skinny and petite as fuck, most people think I weigh about 100lbs, but I'm actually real heavy. I'm about 15lbs past the healthy weight for my height. My BMI is 27, I'm medically overweight.
This chick is probably a good 30 or 40lbs+ overweight. And her BMI would most likely be 30+ making her medically obese.
I think it's arbitrary to think she's only 12lbs overweight.
But maybe I'm wrong. I could just carry my weight "really well" and she could carry her weight "badly" by the average people's standards.
@BuchitaBuchys "I don't like the concept of "idolizing" one body type." I totally agree. That's why I always say the most important thing is looking healthy. Because there are many kinds of healthy bodies and if you look healthy chances are you look attractive to many. As long as you don't look anorexic or too fat it's ok.
This particular girl can be considered chubby/thick or fat. She's in the blurry area between healthy and unhealthy I guess. So it's perfectly understandable why a lot of men and women don't find it ideal or attractive. But what I'm seeing from women is a little disturbing haha. It's like thin girls really despise chubby girls (I'm guessing because thick girls usually have bigger boobs) and chubby girls of course really hate petite women. So it's like they're both trying to convince guys or themselves that one body type is better than the other when in reality guys don't really give that much of a fuck lol.
No. She's unhealthy just based on weight alone. But we don't really know her diet or exercise, so we can't be sure.
I'm unhealthy based on weight alone. In bootcamp, I struggled so hard to stay at 120lbs! :x
I couldn't eat bread, I couldn't eat too many sweets.
I had to only eat like one packet of peanut butter! And I love pb :(
During the one hour we had as "free time", I had to work out.
I don't know, my body is naturally 125-135lbs weight range. They wanted me to go down to like at least 110lbs. But I couldn't. I had a hard time getting down to 120.
This is true. I hate the fact that both types of women seem to think it's "good" to knock their fellow woman down just for male attention.
*sigh
When will we learn?
I think it depends on the person. Some are built and look better thin, others big.
I don't like all these comments either saying "you don't have to be anorexic to be pretty". A lot of thin girls, like myself, don't starve to be thin. I'm naturally thin.
But yeah I guess she is unhealthy from a medical standpoint, I just said 20lbs as a random number. :p I don't know about obese though. Obese is when you have multiple chins and stomachs and all of your body parts are uber saggy lol.
that's the best dude!!! she's well-proportioned and has her curves as well.
and whoever calls her "fat" should buy a new pair of glasses. the girl is normal-weight.
the fact that she's not a broomstick doesn't mean she's FAT... for god's sake!
I'm glad my searching efforts paid off, it's really difficult to find this type of body even though it's the best type XD
thanks dude
My pleasure
She is fat, unless you're blind.
But whatever floats your boat, dude.
@notverycreativeguy at highest her BMI is like 24. Still in the range of normal.
24 is overweight. unless they updated it hahaa
@BertMacklinFBI 24 is normal as it is in the range of 18.5 to 24.9
I don't really care about BMI, I just see how she looks and to me it's fat what I see.
@notverycreativeguy I think you watch too much TV and read too many fashion magazines, dude. You do reailze they use photoshop to make girls look thinner, right?
Dude, I don't need TV or whatever to compare this girl to those I know. And no, they're definitely not all anorexic or 'broomsticks' or anything alike.
@notverycreativeguy many under 18 girls are broomsticks, it's okay to be disconnected from reality on what's average and what's more thin than average
You know? I don't care about what's average, as long as I know what is attractive to me and what is not.
@notverycreativeguy dude, would you rather eat the steak or the bones?
Don't make comparisons like this, they just can't be applied properly.
@sexydncr NORMAL weight can't be overweight. otherwise it eouldn't be called normal
I think she means society doesn't think normal weighted girls are normal, I mean in Hollywood Jennifer Lawrence is considered overweight! What we see in shopping malls and on shows and everywhere says that if you're not a size 4 or under then you're fat. Even though in all actuality you're not fat just because you aren't a size 4. skinny sells , I know I've felt like I was obese for my entire life when I suppose I'm not. I just compare myself to a size 2 and think "wow so that's what it feels like to feel beautiful" I've been told that you don't have to be a twig to be beautiful but it's hard to believe when there may be 1 or 2 telling you skinny doesn't always mean hot but the rest of the world is advertising it is. So I think that's what she meant sorry for the length of this!
I do not enjoy putting others down, I enjoy pointing out facts. For example, 65% of people live in countries where more people die because of being overweight rather than underweight. The average American woman is a size 14 which is considered being overweight. The majority of people are overweight or obese. Before either of you make the argument that only anericanis fat, @klaatu51 Greece is the leading country of child obesity in the world. Just because something is the norm does not make it right.
@sexydncr i don't give a shit about my country basically. what makes you believe i support my country?
I'm actually really offended by the people who call this "normal"
I don't care what anyone's attracted to, but the fact is the same people who call this body "normal weight" and "ideal weight" turn to me and say I should lose more weight even though I'm considerably smaller while others bunk me in the same group of being "normal" next to someone with a body like her who is obviously overweight. It's insulting that I try really hard to be as small and healthy as possible and I'm bunked in next to people that don't care enough about themselves to eat healthy human sized portions instead of eating three times and above what they're body needs and when they see themselves getting porky they just shove more crap in their face. It's shitty to put someone cares about their health next to someone who obviously doesn't. There's a huge difference between accepting yourself as you and "rebelling against the media" as an excuse to not take care of yourself and remain fat and play the victim card
& @diggerforteal I'M a size two. Thanks for the bash :P
@DancingWithDragons you say that as if you were obligated to obey the words of those who are trying to tell you what to do.
@DancingWithDragons when did I bash you? this question was like a month ago
@dancingwithdragons i wanna grab some meat sister... not bones. if you wanna call it unhealthy then go on, i don't give a damn. they're hotter than skinny girls anyway. and yes it's all media's fault that they made skinny girls as "godesses"
No I'm saying it as though it's a pain in the ass to be told that you look like someone who doesn't take care of yourself. I meant the bash towards thinner people. I don't care what gets you off, but why do you have to bash someone because they take care of themselves? That's just stupid. And no, medias portrayal didn't do shit. The reason models are so skinny is because the designers are using them as walking canvases. It's distracting to see boobs and ass holding the fabric out AND it costs more to make a garment that fits someone who isn't tiny. The only people who are actually blaming media are the people who know nothing about the reason behind the models and why they are the size they are. But if you look at the designers themselves you'll see that they're normal sizes, thin sizes, and large sizes.
They're not perpetuating anything. Ignorance just happens to breed insecurity.
You're only a victim if you make yourself one. It's a mentality that needs to be squashed.
I am amazed at the knee jerk answers that are cruel trolling, i. e `hippo' from some `man' who is 24! Ok for our babe that is take # 2-no, not by my standards, my personal opinion. Hollywood et al can come up with their view, I do not share it. Next, `Voluptuous Velma', she IS my type, and the clothes don't give us the best picture. I am an engineering grad, and I must at least envision 3d for estimates. She must be 200+ lbs, a real treat for me and my choice for a date, that's all folks... for now!

I just did a little research on this myself and it seems 20-30% body fat is the most attractive. www.google.com/search
That's exactly why I find her attractive, I think 35 to 45% on that pic is attractive, the 50% is really bad
Interesting picture. Yeah I'd say 35% is the limit of a healthy body. At 35% you need to start exercising to at least maintain that 35% and avoid going to 40+%.
To me 25-30% is ideal.
@VulcanHades to me 25%-30% are too thin
@Mesonfielde Well good for you. The world needs chubby chasers. :P
@VulcanHades I'm just attracted to what I'm attracted to, it's how it works XD
Why do so many people think she's not ideal? So many people are acting like she's 100 pounds overweight. She is definitely a healthy weight. You don't have to be 80 pounds to be healthy...
Apparently people on this site don't see this.
I don't understand why! She's a beautiful girl
They watch too much TV and think victoria's secret is "normal"
victoria's Secret is a bunch of girls Who starve themselves to be skinny
Exactly!
I didn't say ideal because she's not at the healthiest of weight but her body may be attractive to some.
There's a difference between "curvy" and overweight. This girl isn't curvy, she's chubby. If a woman is curvy, she doesn't have rolls, she has large boobs and wide hips and has an hourglass shape. This woman doesn't have an hourglass shape.
intentious.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/url.jpg
Curvy women don't have visible cellulite either, like on 40-45% in this pic.
www.primalfitnesspittsburgh.com/.../...e-women.jpg
I don't like hourglass at all. :
The 40-45% girls are sexy.
The hourglass shape is probably the most natural of shapes. It shows they can child bear because their hips are wide. Obesity is a modern problem so before the constant supply of food, the slimmer figure would define the hourglass shape and I would say is the most common of body shapes.
It is so natural only like 7% of women have that shape, lol.
Yeah, rectangle is better. Hourglass is popular because of the media. It's glorified as if everyone found that attractive and nothing else, hoping that the other 93% of women will go and buy themselves plastic surgeries.
I really don't know if her body is ideal, because everyone has their own opinion of it, but it looks perfectly fine to me. She may not be super skinny, but some people just aren't naturally skinny and it can be difficult for people to fit exercising into their schedules or to stick to a diet. As long as she's happy and healthy, what's the problem? I applaud her for taking a risk and wearing the bikini. I'm skinnier than her and I'd never wear one. Society has defined beauty for us, rather than letting us develop our own definition of beauty.
""I'm skinnier than her and I'd never wear one.""
Why not?
I've just never been confident in the way I look.
I was kinda hoping the reason would be something like "I just don't feel like showing off that much of my body to strangers" or something. :p
Well it isn't. Although I never understood why women feel that it's fine to be seen in a bikini but not in underwear. What's the difference?
I'm not sure, so I made a question about that here: www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q1289411-what-exactly-is-the-difference-between-bras-panties-underwear-a
Wow I never expected you to post a question about it lol
I hate skinny women, especially ones who try to wear bikinis. You have to have some boobies to actually look sexy in one.
I'm not saying that I think she's 100% ideal, but she's certainly attractive and feminine. Sorry, but visible abs on a woman are a huge turn off to me. Curves are where it's at. I don't want a woman who looks like a teenage boy.
And hips, for bikinis. If you don't have boobs and hips, please don't wear a bikini. Thanks.
Finally, I've been hoping to hear that from someone at this point :D
Bikinis aren't worn to please dudes. They're worn to go swimming.
Asker- why are you so upset about body shaming towards the girls you find hot but when its towards one that you don't you think its okay? wtf
@been_waiting primarily it is a result of the fact that while people do see skinny shaming as a problem here, apparently the opposite type of abuse is so ingrained in people that people don't even notice. So people who are abused more need more reassurance.
Errrrrr... two wrongs don't make a right? Fucking duh..
@been_waiting two wrongs of equal weight, anyways :p
Does a bikini help you swim easier than a one piece? No. They wear them to show off their bodies.
I think it makes more sense to say that people wear one piece swimwear to hide their bodies.
Why do you WANT people to be insecure with their bodies solely because it isn't the type that arouses you? It would be like me saying you're short so you shouldn't wear certain things or you're not muscley enough so you're disgusting and should wear a shirt when you swim. This goes to both you, opinion owner, and asker.
@been_waiting technically I am not telling anyone to wear or not wear anything. Attraction is subjective. Even if I don't find her attractive, someone else would. But you are right, there is no point in being abusive and calling skinny people bonesacks and chubby people whales. Especially directly to them.
Okay. Then maybe you can stop the skinny bashing now.
What do you mean by ideal? If I had to somehow distill my view of what a perfect woman would look like I guess she would be slightly different, but she (the girl in your photo) is certainly attractive to me, she's got the type of figure that I'd like in a partner. I don't really know if I can give a yes or no answer though - perhaps if you clarify what you mean by 'ideal'.
Well technically when I asked ideal, I meant "ideal to you", by which I meant "find her physically attractive". But people eventually ended up measuring her "society standards" which is this
assets.nydailynews.com/.../candice-swanepoel.jpg
I so don't like the completely flat stomach and those tiny arms, though.. XD
Well I definitely find her physically attractive.
if she's happy with how she looks, everyone else should be too.
Smart.
Her body is not desirable in my opinion. She probably could look cute in some outfits but she had a lot of balls to put that bikini on. I would never go on a workout plan saying "I wanna look like that girl" lol. That being said she doesn't look horrible her body's just not all that
No, it's not ideal. I don't think she's at a healthy weight, or maybe she's borderline. It's great that she is comfortable with her own body and she still looks good, but curvy is not the same thing as... chubby.
I prefer chubby to curvy then XD that's ideal enough for me
Ideal body for what? Wrestling? Child bearing? Running? Acrobatics? Surviving at depth? Floating? Surviving an apocalypse? Modelling? Horse riding?
Being attractive, of course! :D
Well there is no ideal as attractiveness is entirely subjective. You tell me, is she ideal for you?
I can't tell because of the sunglasses! But if she has an attractive face along with her shape/body, then yes
They only cover her eyes...
Exactly the problem!
Completely agree with you...
her face isn't that attractive though, the body is fine but the face kind of cancels out how nice the body is
that's actually how I feel about it, although I think it's because she's wearing those silly glasses.
yeah that could be why
Exactly. If her face was beautiful then the opinions would change. But since she looks kinda meh people are like eeewww she's fat. It's kind of funny. :)
@VulcanHades it actually takes effort for it not to piss me off.
Well the face is always more important that body. Next time just pick a girl with the same body but with a beautiful face. I always judge only based on what their face looks like. I never notice body. If the face isn't attractive then I don't care to get to know them... guy or girl.
I picked D.. Mum told me "if I don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all"
So in reality, you meant B)
Yeah pretty much.. Glad to see im the only one on D lol
Not even close, without offending anyone she in my opinion looks a tad bit overweight and I don't find that attractive.
I'd take a shower with her, hope she has a nice personality.
Uh, that would be a "no". I'm sure she might be a nice person. As far as aesthetics, there is that which is wanting.
I would never wear a suit like that if I looked like her. Let's put it that way.
Funny thing actually, the post where I got this picture from was that she didn't use to want to wear bikinis because she thought she "didn't have the right body for it", but now she chose to say FUCK IT and does what she wants and is proud to be herself
I am glad for her that she made the decision to just go against the judgmental critical people who gain their self-esteem from criticizing the bodies of others, and just accept and be happy with herself.
Mid section weight is the most dangerous. Leads to severe health problems.
I think people starving themselves to eradicate any semblance of stored fat is way more dangerous.
Some people are naturally thin.
And some are not.
Correct. And some who look like her should not. It's genuinely not healthy. Ask any health professional.
I think she looks pretty normal.
Normal =/= healthy, just so you know.
Being skinny doesn't implicitly mean you are healthy either.
It doesn't. But being FIT does. And you are NOT fit if you look like her. There's no way.
Well I am not fit but I am skinny :D possibly deep inside I am dying, but then again, everyone is.
That girl is not fat enough, for it to be dangerous or unhealthy..
@ShaeNielson I think she supports SkinnyGossip and the starving tips of the day.
www.reddit.com/.../c1hyjsr
@ShaeNielson
Being that girls weight is unhealthy. Extra stress on the body. If she's that heavy when she's young it's just gonna get worse when she's older and that's when it will be dangerous.
You gotta be kidding prettygurl. She's certainly not ideal of fit, but she's not an unhealthy weight.
She's not obese, but she's certainly not healthy. The torso is the worst place to store fat in terms of health, and I can guarantee her body fat % is not good. He said it was 24% and 25% is considered fat. That one percent isn't that big of a difference.
Yes she is obese. I've seen whales wear bikinis so she shud def wear it but she's not ideal by any means. She needs some Jenny Craig lots of it
@jennsmith9982 no, this is obese: i.huffpost.com/.../o-OVERWEIGHT-WOMAN-570.jpg?8
no.. not into apple shaped people. I'd prefer a pear shaped figure over this. Ideally would be hour glass shaped of course,
how can you tell if someone is attractive without even being able to see their face completely?
her body isn't horrible but it's definitely NOT ideal.
Actually, it is indeed pretty difficult. Those sunglasses truly are in the way :p
make fun if me all you want but a persons eyes make a huge difference, determining whether or not they're actually good looking.
Why would I? I agree with you.
If this is ideal then I have the ideal body which I've never been told before so..
I agree with Klaatu, but this question is pretty disheartening from a social standpoint.
But I find this body type attractive, so I don't care what others say :p
Well this is a first!
I like this bodytype because it's huggable. :P And I just find it generally attractive, which is nice. It's a shame it is pretty rare, hence why I barely find any women really physically attractive.
Where do you live? I've seen tons of girls with bodies like that!! Then again I'm not really checking them out but I believe they look that way.
I thinks he's fat
Then again in 5'2" and 103 lbs so maybe that's why
She's actually at most chubby. Even then, she is average.
I am going to link this question every single time someone bitches about skinny shaming.
I just think you are extremely judgmental.
Well tell that to all the fat girls who say skinny girls have no curves, no boobs, and ni ass...
When I fact I have a 0.7 waist to hip ratio... But they tell me I have. Lying cause they r fat... Nobody cares when a fat girl hates on a skinny girl, it's okay and nobody throws a fit. When a skinny girl hates on a fat girl, it's. It okay and everybody throws a fit
You're one to talk, did you even look at the other replies on this thread? People just don't realize when they're bashing people for not being stick thin.
And I'm going to link this question every time someone says skinny shaming isn't as bad as fat shaming, because all over this whole question you say hateful things about skinnier girls. If you don't care about others' opinions or are going to insult everyone who doesn't agree with you, then why did you ask this question? Also, there's a huge difference between a size 0 and a size 6. A size 0 is stick thin. A size 6 is healthy.
