Cold sores, how do you manage them?

I hate cold sores outbreak. How do you prevent/manage them?

Have you noticed there are certain situations that generally result in yourself getting a cold-sore? With me, I used to get them mostly around the beginning of school in September, when the stress would lower my immunity on top of the weather getting colder.

&I'm sure you know what it feels like, that little bit of tenderness or pain on your lip the night before you wake up with one? Next time you notice that little bit of pain somewhere on your lips, especially if it coincides with you having been in the cold or a situation where your immunity was lowered thereby allowing the virus to become active, put some cream called 'Abreva' on that spot before you go to bed. You can buy it over the counter for about $20, and with regular application it helps prevent cold sores from popping up, as well as helping them go away faster if they've already appeared.

I used to get those all the time when I was a kid because I drank a lot of acidic drinks like orange juice and lemonade. From my personal experience? I put hydrogen peroxide on my sore. I would get them inside my mouth. You get a cotton ball and dip it in hydrogen peroxide and apply by dabbing it onto the cold sore. Keep it there for a couple of minutes (3-5). Make sure to NOT pick or scratch it! it will make the process longer and worse.

Ask your doctor for an antiviral prescription. Acyclovir is the cheapest and it works about as well as any. Keep a supply on hand for future outbreaks.

Take the oral pill, wipes them out before they start.
