Stomach problems?

I know I need to go to a doctor and I'm working on that. I get diharrea almost every time I eat. It seems to be the worst though, when my stomach is empty. No matter what I eat, if my stomach is empty it will make me sick. Any ideas what could cause that?

Sounds like an intestine problem. Usually when you get diarrhea, it's because the large intestine failed to absorb all that water from your food, so your stools are very watery. Are you taking any antibiotics, by chance?

If it's worst when your stomach is empty, then you can try to eat small amounts throughout the day to keep your stomach from being empty.

It's been a long time since I dropped out of nursing school so I'm pretty rusty on my medical knowledge. Definitely go to the doctor.

That's not good. There's probably many potential causes. I'm not a doctor but my first thought would be irritable bowel syndrome maybe?

When did this start? Any other symptoms? Have you made any lifestyle changes recently?

No, not changes. It's been on and off since I was 16. I'm 21 now. Went to doctors for a couple years but nobody could figure out what was wrong. No other symptoms. Just get diahrrea and obviously my stomach feels awful until it goes away. I'm sick of not being able to go anywhere or do anything without getting sick :/

Could be a possible gluten allergy maybe. Or IBS

I don't know about the cause but you need to eat something, I would recommend you eat something plain and simple that the stomach shouldn't have much of a problem digesting. when Asian people get sick and can't eat they still eat so their body can get energy and strength to recover, its like boiled rice called "jook" or something, the stomach can digest it easily even when its weak.

When did it start? How long has it been? Can you drink fluids? Are you vomiting?

It's been on and off since I was 16. I'm 21 now. I spent a couple years going to doctors but nobody could figure it out and I gave up. But it's getting really bad again. I drink fluids fine. I never throw up. I just can't eat close to anything without getting sick..

It really depends on the day. Sometimes I can eat basically anything and sometimes I can't even eat toast.

But are there any foods you can consistently eat no matter what? Any at all?

No... yogurt. that helps stops the diahrrea faster. But that's really it.. I'm usually fine with toast and rice but once in a while that will make me sick too.

The BRAT. If Yogurt stops the diarrhea faster it's something in it, probably cultures, an enzyme based problem with digestion, your intestines don't work. So there's that.
