I'm so depressed. I was told I can't join the military since I'm a diabetic. What now?

I just turned 19, ever since I was a little kid and as far back as I can remember, I wanted to join the army. My grandpa and I were really close up until he passed away. I really looked up to him and he taught me a lot of stuff. He retired from the army as a E-7. He always loved the fact I wanted to become a soldier one day and before he died, he wanted me to promise him that I would follow through with my dreams and enlist. I saw a recruiter yesterday and brought all my documents and was ready to get started.
This is where my life just turned upside down. So I have type 1 diabetes, and have had it since I was 4 years old. I wear an insulin pump 24/7 and I have always managed my diabetes and been on the pump since I was 12. Most doctors won't let you have a pump and switch you from insulin shots until you demonstrate that you can accurately manage your condition.
The recruiter asked me medical questions, and I told him I am diabetic. His tone changed immediately and he rudely told me that I am ineligible for military service and showed me proof in a big book and said there are no waivers either. My entire world and dreams are shattered. I haven't slept at all. I don't know what to do with my life now, that's all I ever wanted to do. I never would have thought I Would be disqualified because of something that is not my fault. I failed my grandpa most of all :(
