I'm allergic to aspirin. But aspirin is horribl on your stomach and liver. There have been other drugs that were more effective with fewer side effects at smaller doses and they were chased off the market by aspirin.

Yeah, probably one or two cases with possible links to the medication that they're required to list. The FDA is pretty good at deciding those things. And besides, it's a prescription drug. Your doctor takes the side effects into account, so you have nothing to worry about.

Prescription medication like that treats serious problems and sometimes there can be side effects. Considering what it's treating, it seems like it's worth a try to see if it helps.

It's better to not use drugs at all. I don't know. Take Robin Williams for example. Was he seeing a counselor? I don't know. Was there one thing in his life that was causing his depression? I don't know. Some say depression is an actual brain chemistry imbalance. I can't say for sure. But if you're depressed I think the best thing you can do is talk to someone about it or pay a psychologist to help you get through it. Then if that doesn't work, only then turn to meds

Abilify has helped a lot of people. The side effects are rare, but the manufacturers are required by the government to list them.
