The obvious one, to look good. Especially in the summer, it's great to be able to rock the mini dresses and short-shorts. When I feel like I look good, that boosts my confidence too. Health is a big motivating factor as well. My motivation to keep hitting the gym initially was to get my cardio health up. Additional ones that keep me going now are of course a combination of looking/feeling good about myself and how that affects me with my boyfriend.
I've also found that working out has a huge calming sensation over me. It's amazing how much it helps minimize anxiety if I'm stressed, whether that be during exam time, having issues with my boyfriend, etc..51 Reply

+1 yi have never worked out just for the sake of exercise. i am forced to walk around a mile a day because i live several blocks away from downtown. one of the downtowns i mean. not to be confused with shitamachi like somewhere in Godforsaken #adachi-ku... *shiver* #sumiyoshikai

@COCOCHANEL If you like it, forced workouts are also fun.
+1 yI barely work out (once every 3 weeks from at home and barely even then #LOL)
I started because I wanted more #power to ya know #slang that fucking ball in gym class with ease or at least better than I was before.
I looked in the mirror and thought "this isn't the body that I deserve nor will I put up with this shit so I started doing pullups and using 20lb dumbells ^_^.

For energy I work 12 hours a day 7 days a week for 4 weeks straight. Not being healthy makes each day feel like hell. I've seen my unhealthy co-workers walk and it's painful just to see them move with so much weight and stress on their joints, I told myself that I wouldn't get to that point and I'm on track to a healthy diet and muscle growth. Plus 6 months away from home on remote drilling camps really requires strong mental health that I get from feeling better about myself for working out. Plus the weight loss and muscle gained helps a lot with the opposet sex.

Natures vision of the perfect human body, in other words actual perfection and I need to be healthy, strong and in shape for my job, I can't very well expect people to work hard for healthier better bodies if I don't have one to begin with.
16 ReplyOriginally it was to look good for women, when i realized the ideal body to attract most women looked pathetic to me, and i already surpassed it, i no longer cared about what women thought about my body. I enjoy working out and i set goals according to what i want to look like.

+1 yI workout because I like my body and I like to see it healthy and in good shape. That is, if you consider having a healthy body is a sign of loving one's self. I love me. I want to keep me looking good.

+1 yI don't, but I wanna get started, so that I get healthier (I'm not unhealthy, but I guess I could be more healthy). Also to build up my body more too.

You're 100% right, but my body has little fat, I'm naturally lean, so there's not much motivation, and if you add that I'm a huge procrastinator... well, it ends up in a "Ok, I'll start next week" xD
I even downloaded an app to give me a workout program so I could get started, but I haven't started xD - +1 y
Hahaha yeah, I can't deny the fact that I'm lazy af xD I'm down for anything fun that involves moving around, but going to the gym, or just working out at home, doesn't seem much fun xD
Because I don't run around and play on the playground anymore, and I'm not part of any recreational sports team. I have a job that requires me to stay still most of the time. If I didn't work out, my body would deteriorate to a hideous blob.

I heard that you do better in studies (working out before and then studying?)
I think it helps to have a positive mind. :)13 Reply- +1 y
Your very right. Looking after and keeping your body healthy in turn keeps your mind healthy and happy. The other day I was feeling so sad and sorry for myself and I called my brother to pull me out of that depressed state and what he did was made me go for a hard intense run while he rode his bike next to me making sure I wasn't slacking lol, it worked tho, by the end of the run I was exhausted but was feeling happy and thinking positively

That's cool! My brother did that with me once. Haha :D it does feel good.
