Do carbs hinder my success at the gym and weightloss?

I love carbs such as bread, rice, sweet potatoes and brown pasta. However, I have been going to the gym for the past few weeks and so far I have seen no difference in my body. I am wondering if its because i consumer too many carbs? I do stay in my 1500 calorie limmit but maybe it still has a negative effect.

I eat bread for breakfest, lunch will be rice with salad and dinner I might have pasta with broccoli
