What kind of pre-workout drink is it? Some really do more harm than good. Before I go to the gym I usually ingest some protein powder mixed in water. It doesn't taste great but it only has one ingredient and no carbs. Water with added lemon juice is a great workout drink.
Get rid of it. Those simple sugars are hell on insulin, and even that small an amount can keep you from getting really lean and shedding the 'puffy' look so many girls have. My ex didn't get really lean and tight until she killed almost all the simple carbs in her diet.
Of course its OK. What is 5 g. Its only a bite of bread or a coffee spoon of rice. Its negligable.
Whuch guidelines are you following Atkins? Paleo?

It's impossible to completely avoid carbs because everything that isn't meat or dairy has some in it. It's just fine.
5g? You can burn that off by blinking twice.
