I have experienced a strong fear to sedation. It has been bad to the point where I have trouble going or. staying asleep sometimes. I would break down into tears whenever I have images or see pictures. I don't think it's a phobia because I don't get panic attack or anything like that. So is it normal? I have also ask a few questions on here and another place about my fear. People have even asked me if I go to therapy. I have even tried to see if I could avoid sedation for surgery (wisdom teeth removal). I even revealed if I couldn't I would avoid it all together. Is this normal or not?
It's quite normal to be scared. I openly have a needle phobia. I know I have. My first big test for several years is coming up shortly. I am having surgery later this month under a GA. I'm more scared of that than the actual op!

It's normal to be a bit scared about medical acts you don't know or understand.
Fear of sedation could also be related to the fear of losing control over what happens to you.
