Lock them. Yes it's not the healthiest thing but you need to be used to pushing all the way up from the ground. And always go down until your chest barely grazes the floor. Enough that you can feel the floor but not enough that any of your weight isn't relieved by the floor. Otherwise they don't count that pushup. You'll be hearing this a lot in the military when someone is spotting/counting for you "72, 73, 74, 74, 74, 74, 75, 76, 76, 76..." because you didn't go far enough down.
So if its not the healthiest thing why do them?
locked out?
I would either do it just short of locking your arms or you can lock em if you want I use to be able to do over a 100 push ups easily, and I did it both ways at the time so it's up to you, doing it just short of locking your arms up though does make it slightly easier.
Long arms so longer range of motion for me, so its still counted as a push up if they didn't lock out?
I can do like 75 so I'm just here for the free point. And the ice cream... where's the ice cream?
Like all the way down, 2 inches from floor and all the way up?
Yes all the way down lol and straight legs too. In fact now I do them with bringing a leg up to my side when going down. Craaaazy hard! And never lock your elbows 😉
Thanks for mh Mr Eastwood.

Whenever I've seen someone claim to be able to do 100 push ups and later observed them doing push ups- they're nowhere near going through the full range of motion, they're pretty much just pumping a short distance up and down, so I say fuck it man stop short of locking out your arms.
No you shouldn't. It's just like sit ups. You don't come all the way up. Almost tho. Keep tention in abs and feel the burn.
Knox what I mean. Not sure if I explained it correct.
I used to do 10 reps of 20 sit ups ( crunches ) and got the most out of them when I could feel the burn holding just b4 the top end
I'm curious, too. In fact, you should add a "see results" option, because there will be far more people who are curious about this than there are people who can do 100 pushups.
Whoops
If your arms are holding a lot of weight/force, YOU NEVER LOCK YOUR ARMS
Its only my body thats being held up
ya but if u do that a million times ya gon hurtcha self man.
Just lookin' out for you
Thanks bro, it means a lot :)
thats the same as doing a bench press, whenever im high rep stuff like 20 plus reps I try not to lockout everyrep because it tears up the elbows over time
If you did that would be cool but it might hurt u!
100... I can do 30 but challenge accepted.
