My sis was very ill when she was little so I grew up visiting hospitals a lot. I realised we're not all lucky and healthy.
I'm not going to need my organs when I'm dead, but someone out there might need lungs or a heart to enjoy the gift that is life. So if I can be their "hero", that's cool with me ;)

You have to weigh 110 lbs to donate blood. I weigh 102.

Also, I have a clotting disorder so I couldn't donate blood that's prone to clotting anyway, regardless of my weight.

Iam a qualified first aider and life guard. I am also a blood donor and marrow donor so it was just a natural progression to carry an organ donor card too.
I feel everyone should if possible donate blood. Here in the UK you can give Twice a year.

I used to donate blood all the time, but I got rejected the last few times because of my iron... I am anemic and even after taking supplements for weeks beforehand, I was still under the requirement. So admittedly, I have stopped trying. I'd really like to get back into it though. Who doesn't want to trade a pint of blood for free snacks and juice? :)

I'm an organ donor... after I pass away I will most likely be cremated, so my organs might as well not go to waste and help someone else live or live their life better. :)

Yes I am. Under French law you're automatically a donor unless you clearly oppose before your death.
I don't see why I would oppose, I won't need my organs anymore once i'm dead so let someone else benefit from it.

Long story short my friend Dino had to get a lung transplant. He was in & out of ICU & rehab for 18 months then died.

Nowhere can I find statistics on the success rate percentage on ANY organ transplant.

No I'm not, I'm not allowed to be because of my religion. When my father died, my mom couldn't find out the reason why he died, the hospital wasn't allowed to open him up.

If you don't want your organs donated then you have to have a special card - otherwise you're automatically a donor - in Croatia anyways.

Every belgian adult citizen is an organ donor unless he/she expressed officially the wish not to be a donor.

Honestly, it feels instinctively wrong to me and I don't really care about other people enough to go past that comfort zone.

Evidence? I don't believe that any normal doctor would be so unethical. If there are any of these that actually exist, I'm positive they're in the vast minority.
