I used to cut ages 13-16 and I am now 2 years and 4 months clean and im very proud of myself. I have promised myself and so many people that I will never pick up a razor again

No I've never self harmed but life's given me more scars physical and mental then I'd like to admit. And I've done the next worst thing next to self harming when I was at my worst a long, long time ago, I tried to actually commit suicide, by stabbing myself in the heart, luckily something stopped me and I just couldn't go through with it. And it was in that defining moment that everything changed and I made the choice to never be that way again, ever, going on 5+ years clean now.

Always makes me a little bit sad whenever I hear stories like this and I think about the folks trying to help people who are currently going through what you and I and others did but they can never understand, they can never understand what it was like or what we went through or what others are going through.

No, purposely inflicting pain on myself is not my thing and in the past I've always found other ways to deal with bad situations.

Yes i used to cut, stopped like 4 years ago. Just recently started hitting myself in the head for whatever reason...

I did used to cut. I've been clean for about 6 months consistently but I wasn't doing too bad before I quit.

Most people do it for attention honestly, like i have so many friends who talk about cutting themselves all the time. That's for attention. But when I did it, I did not want a single person to know. I mean eventually people found out because you can't hide the scars forever
