Other than that, your best bet at getting taller would be to go to Asia and get some leg-lengthening surgery. (Not to be taken lightly because if they fuck it up or any complications arise in the healing process, you could be a cripple for life.)

+1 yUhm.
Sadly, if your growth plates have closed as due to your age, exercising will not affect your growth rate. But if you enjoy swimming, biking, running, or yoga, among other sports, and you haven't stopped growing, exercise combined with the right diet and proper sleep should help you grow.
Doing stretches has some beneficial effects, on the other hand.

+1 yI'm 4'11", so hardly the person to give advice, but my dad says hanging from somewhere for as long as you can should help. Since bones get a little bit separated for little while and more, uh, stuff (forgot the word) is able to get between them and slowly harden to become bone.
But you're 17. Don't girls stop growing at, like, 16?14 Reply- +1 y
Technically.. You stop growing in mid 20's..

Yup, you just can't tell because it's slowly growing. That's why sleep is important ! :) Allows your body to do what it needs to do while asleep.
You can in fact grow taller. I've grown an inch just from running and doing tons of stretches. Now that I think about it, it might be two inches but there are ways to get taller and yiu can do that by running and stretches. Look up Grow Taller Guru on Youtube he's proven this.

Umm... Guys grow a lot faster than girls?

@mutedaisy that is a common misconception. Boys stop growing taller when their growth plates qre fused which is any age. It's their muscles and everythinh else that can still grow i. e develop.

@Josht11 then she can prepare her future kids lol
+1 yI'm sorry to say this, but you might have stopped getting taller. If anything ask your mom, sis, aunt, grandma or even cousin if they were still getting taller when they were 17 as well. Genetics play a part in height as well. Most females in my family stopped getting taller at 14 - 16 and start to fill out more, so I guess I'm stuck at 5'3" forever...
Plus 5'5" is perfect.11 Reply- 903 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yYou're actually not really short, I think 5'5 is the average height here... And you're still 3 inches taller than me, so count yourself lucky! :P I don't think there's much you can do, it's more about your genes than anything else.
11 Reply You can feel taller by cutting anyone taller than you out of your life. You can wait until you have reached full maturity. I don't think that surgery exists yet. Wear platforms shoes. They feel like regular shoes but you are a few inches taller. If 5'5 is what you're meant to be then that's your fate. Talk to your parents about it. You can still model at 5'5.

+1 yThere is no way other than painful expensive surgery where they crack your bones in your legs and slow separate them with a vice that is screwed into your bones. It's too late to have tall parents and Be born again sorry.

+1 yMmm I was like 5'5 when I was 16 then I grew only one inch taller and became 5'6. You can still grow one inch I guess, but you won't add 3 inches, that's impossible, it's genetics...

+1 ySurgery. For roughly nine months of pain and about $20-30k, you can totally grow an extra three inches. It's incredibly effective, and there are minimal risks with a good doctor, but it's not at all for the faint of heart. Look it up; it's called leg lengthening.
01 Reply5'5" is average for women. There's nothing you can do, you'll either grow a bit more or you won't. You have no control over it. Don't worry about it. It's not an issue worth worrying about.
10 ReplyWell I haven't grown for like 3 years, 5'4 (fuck me) m.. maybe the growth spurts coming. I wouldn't get any hopes of getting taller.
20 ReplyNot much you can do... You will be short like me 😭 No worry it not that bad 🙌🏻

+1 yIt's genetic. I don't know why you want to be taller, you're normal.
18 Reply- +1 y
Yes in the US. that's normal. There are girls even shorter than you wtf ๐. I'm 6'9" and I'm 18 so I'm the abnormally tall one here.

+1 yYou can become taller if you do yoga that works on back flexibility on a daily basis. The yoga will stretch and elongate your spine to what it should really be. Also, check your posture and fix it if it isn't healthy. Check for scoliosis you may have that. People that have that condition and get corrective surgery actually grow 3-5 inches and start modeling after.
01 ReplyYou know how genetics work right?
You're most likely done growing, just appreciate what you have.10 Reply
+1 yGenetics determine growth patterns i. e. Height. You can only stunt growth not force it.

No. You are not. You are in fact, in the ideal height range right now. You should be happy.

Looking at your name and your question reminded me of a story from my childhood. We used to have a chauffeur who was about 6'4". He used to tell me, "I hate my tall height. I always feel dizzy when I walk along with short people". :) So, you should be thankful you will not be dizzy in real life. Hahaha.
Take care and be thankful for being healthy and normal and better than so many. Bless you.
