However, You need to be Smart as well. After some Time down the Food and Water Line, you Need to at Least... Drink Something after 100 hours at an Average temperature outside. Food you can go Without Within a Reasonable time Span. Many days with no Water, Your Kidneys will Shut Down and you will Die.
I have Gone 5 days with No food before. However, being it was Hot on the Spot, I drank to My heart's Content That particular Summer. It wasn't Due to Dieting but Instead... Crying.
Happy Ramadan to all of the Muslims Celebrating and Cleansing, I still have a husband out in Egypt , and although I am a Christian, I would Do Ramadan right Along with him, Whether I was There or Not.
Mind over Matter is all it Takes to "Taste or Not to Taste."
Good luck and Great question. xx02 Reply

Fasting should become EASIER after you pass about 8-10 hours.
If it doesn't -- like, if it just keeps getting harder and harder -- that's a sign of poor blood-sugar regulation. Meaning you are probably diabetic, or at least pre-diabetic.
If you start yr fast after dinner, sleep through those toughest hours (usually the 4th through 8th hours), wake up, and skip breakfast, then, fasting for 19 hours shouldn't be difficult at all.30 Reply
Your fasting will not be difficult if you start out small and work your way up. I used to fast for 16 hours (ate my food between 12pm and 6-8pm) and needed to eat an apple when I first woke up and then when I went to bed to curb the hunger. After a while however, I found myself not needing to eat the apple. I can even just get away with one large meal a day if I wanted. The key is eating healthy foods because unhealthy ones will make your body chemistry conducive to cravings and things of that nature.

+1 yNo. The longest I've gone before was 5 or 6 days.
Seriously, I sometimes forget to eat from morning until night (10-12 hours).
19 hours is no problem.
HOWEVER, If I'm doing it intentionally, I WILL make sure to get my protein in before AND after I do the fast.
Haven't fasted in a few weeks. Going to do it Friday (day off from the gym).10 ReplySee my body would probably freak out of I fasted for more then about 8 hours... So yes mentally strong. I'm sure I could do it I just don't want to damage my body

8 hours?
(remember "fasting" includes sleep) so, you literally have to eat the moment you wake up or yr body goes nuts? - +1 y
@redeyemindtricks Not sleep, sorry but when awake yes
- +1 y
Fair.
"Damaging yr body" is not a thing. Complete fasting has ZERO metabolic effects -- either short-term or long-term -- until AT LEAST 72 hours (3 full days with no calories).
If you are not particularly active, then it's even longer, like 96 hours.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 ythis is about ramadan right? lol

Opinion Owner+1 yto you too ^_^ <3
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI think it really depends on the situation. I'm fasting right now for Ramadan, thank God, and I'm tired and kind of grumpy but it's not too bad otherwise. It's more a mental effort than physical in some sense.
20 Reply19 hours fasting seems tough to me. And its like for 30 days.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNah I've done it plenty of times before pretty much on accident. all it takes is being used to skipping meals and having something very distracting to do.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNot at all. the trick is to start fasting around 5-6pm so you sleep through 1/3 of the fast. then start eating around 11am-12pm. I've done this plenty of times and it's easy.

I don´t see point of not drinking water, definition of fasting is only drinking pure water. The water purifies the body easier when it recieves no nutrients and salt. Without drinking water it is only torture. I mean, from what I know, of course I can be wrong, but I always see the benefit of fasting in drinking water, not eating anything and this way, cleaning body. Also I think it is better not to eat for 36h (since 19pm, the whole next day and till 7am morning) once a week, than not eat and drink for a month. Better question is, is it religious or for health?
No. It's not that difficult.
