As a person with anxiety and depression who has also been dumped I completely understand but it helps to read up on why you are feeling hurt. Why do we feel pain within us after a breakup? It's a journey you must discover

The fact you're feeling helpless indicates you need to keep taking them. While you're feeling like this, be sure to reach out to family, close friends, or a counselor. Don't isolate yourself right now, and stay on your meds!
"About one in five people who take an antidepressant for six or more weeks may experience discontinuation symptoms if they suddenly stop taking the medicine. Tapering down your medication gradually under the supervision of your health care provider can help avoid or minimize symptoms."

You need them more than ever right now. Talk to your doctor or therapist, it sounds like you need some extra support.

If your tablets help, please keep taking them, every one has bad times in their lives but a break up will happen for the most of us at least and your not always alone in this world, you have other people. you can get up out of bed take your tablet or sook over miss whats her face and well do something else to take your mind off of her. You can do it. So I hope you have had your tablets by now
No, talk to your doctor if the meds aren't helping. Don't be that guy who annoyingly wallows in self pity, instead be that guy who takes care of himself and actually tries to get better.
And remember there are worse things in the world than your girlfriend dumping you. So yes, by all means be upset for a little, that's normal but don't linger on it too long and hard now, that'll get you nowhere. Good luck.Instead of going off your medication, you should be talking to your doctor about how they don't seem to be working anymore. You should be getting a therapist to start CBT with you, which might help you more than SSRIs alone. Medication isn't a cure all for depression. You actually have to put in some work instead of relying on a band-aid solution.
More and more research is coming out showing how antidepressants are doing more bad than good. Therapy and life style chanhes are best for beating mental illneas. Plus more and more people are on antidepressants , we aren't living well as a whole
I would recommend going to the doctor and telling him this. He may be able to give you something more helpful.
Definitely dont stop taking them.
