Why do some people look younger than their age?

My older sister has always been confused for someone younger. Right now she's 28 and the guy (he's 25) she went on a date with thought she was 22. They'll still going out.

When she really was 22 it was a bit harder for her to get dates without sometimes getting asked how old is she and once went to a club to get a drink, someone had to confirmed that she wasn't underaged. Never had that happened to me though.

Genetics. I've never been the healthiest eater but I'm often mistaken for a high school student. Last year I had a case in court, I don't live in the US and of course over here minors can't enter a courthouse without a parent or guardian. I had to go and get my ID cause I was mistaken for a 15 yr old!!

Then my half sister's aunt came to visit while I was there. She said I should be studying for when school reopens and I need to find something constructive to do. I was taken aback, she spoke to me like an insolent child. My sister informed her that I'm 22 cause I was too shocked to say anything.

Then there's the guys. Most guys I find attractive check me out but never approach me. They're always staring at my face and I know right away they're trying to figure out if I've graduated highschool. The few guys who do approach me always ask me if I've finished high school yet. I'm talking that exact same question, all guys. Then they ask my age and ask me if I'm sure I'm really how old I say I am.

I'm 5'8" and have a great curves but it's my face... ugh. Most people think I'm fifteen or sixteen. I always tell them a fifteen year old wouldn't have this body but they hit back with the "a lot of teens are fully developed for their age." I really hate when men don't approach me cause they think I'm a kid. Looking younger than you are isn't as great as some people think it is!!!

Genetics or we take care of ourselves and especially our skin :)

True. Though I look just my age, like a woman in her early 20's and was never got asked that on dates.

Coz some don't drink a drop of alcohol, some don't smoke, they exercise as much as they can for their age, and most importantly they don't eat crap that destroys their body, instead they take in good things to nourish it... Appearance and looks don't solely depend on your age, it also has to do with your general heath and quality of life

Some people are blessed by great genes, same as some races are blessed with nice skin that seems to defy the aging process. I met a girl here at the same university I attend. She's in her mid thirties she looks like she might just be ready to hit twenty, she has the absolute to die for radiant (black) skin color makes her look so pretty!! I've also known Asian friends Moms (especially), when I see them sometimes I think how lucky they are to have such beautiful skin that makes them look so pretty and young! Me, I'm blonde that means I'll begin showing my age before my brunette friends do... So I believe it's having a great genetic makeup, being of a race that ages gracefully, having great skin. Most of all protecting yourself from too much sun and sunburns especially, that's one part you can control.

Good genes, the way they dress, act and how they do their makeup. Im 24 and get asked all the damn time for ID whether for buting smokes or buying a horror film lol. My sister who is 20 hardly ever gets IDed and people think she is 30 or older! She dresses in button ups, pinstripe pants or dress pants, hair up, very little makeup if any. Even when she is wearing a t shirt and jeans she is still mistaken as a 30 year old. I wear shorts, t shirts, some button up shirts, skirts, jeans and always wear makeup. No matter what I wear I dont look my age. Its all in your genes and how you present yourself.

I have been told I look younger than my age. I think it's due to my genetics, plus I never smoked, drank, and stay out of the sun. I have almost always had a healthy diet (slipped a few times), and always am active. I work out daily.

or they are short because short people tend to look younger than their age.

You can see it with certain celebrities that have been in the business for years. The celebrities that always looked much younger than there age. Finally they got to an age where it all caught up to them and now they look ancient.
