Do you hate it, when someone congratulates you for losing lots of weight?

Yes I lost lots of weight. And so what? Me and millions of others around the world have done it. Everyone can do it. Only thing is that it takes time.

So why people congratulate you for something that it’s as easy as picking a pen from the floor? You didn’t do something special to yourself like, losing height, changing the size of your head or change your eye color. All the above on your own of course.

No, there's no point in getting upset over a well-meaning compliment. That's such a silly thing to hate on lol. Plus, losing weight is definitely not as easy as picking up a pen on the floor. Some people really put a lot of effort into it and it's nice to have someone recognize it.

It may be easy for you, but not for others. There's age, metabolism, personal habits, genes... all sorts of stuff that plays in to weight loss. It's not "as easy as picking a pen from the floor".

People have personal goals. When those goals are reached, isn't it right and good to offer some kind of affirmation?

No because despite you claiming you didn't, you did actually but in effort to lose weight, you've changed your lifestyle, diet and exercise routine - so yea, especially when a person was very big and lost lots of weight it's a reason to acknowledge their weight loss.

obviously and no not really, i need to lose about 10 kgs at the most ( i am not complete fat or anything, just chubby, mostly skinny fat, i look fit with clothes on and i have fat rolls and moobs once its off) and building 10 kgs of muscle is not that big a deal when its noob gains.

i would have to put on tons of muscle to get to hulk mode lol, the joesyy/ hulkksmash guy is a good example, he is 5'4'' and 85 kgs and he is still not a HUGE guy, just above average, 80 kgs with muscle would still make me seem kinda skinny i think

I'm a mesomorph body type and I am naturally very athletic/toned and build muscle incredibly fast when I'm actually consuming sufficient proteins, which I usually don't because of that reason lol. My body frame is actually rather slender in relation to my height though and I don't think mesomorph body types are naturally "skinny fat", not to mention ectomorphs...

No I am not, endomorph would mean huge wrists, big boned. 5.5"-6.5"-ectomorph, 6.5-7.5-mesomorph, 7.5+-endo, and skinny fat doesn't have much to do with body type. Your body type doesn't determine your metabolism, I have a slow metabolism and tend to carry fat but I am not big framed. My wrists are about 6.8".

Again, metabolism has NOTHING to do with body type, I saw a few videos and read a bit on this and I was kind of convinced

@shipoopi No, actually endomorph but means that you're predisposed to having a higher body fat percentage naturally, which is actually a very common body type in indians.
I think you're confusing body type and body frame right now..

Hmmmm, I always thought those terms were used for the frame sizes, I even remember reading somewhere. In fact I just googled "ecto, meso, endo" and it mainly talks of the frame and includes metabolism along with it though I remember reading it doesn't depend. Anyway, neither of us would really know it that well lol.

@shipoopi frame size is literally one factor out of a dozen that play into it: here's a list of common characteristics of the endomorph body type:

"Soft and round body
Gains muscle and fat very easily
Is generally short
"Stocky" build
Round physique
Finds it hard to lose fat
Slow metabolism
Muscles not so well defined"

Do any of those, possibly multiple ones sound like you? Note that they are just COMMON traits, I'm a mesomorph body type and I'm tall - that alone still doesn't make me ectomorph, not even partly ectomorph, although I really wish it did.

I am not exactly soft and round, just a lot of fat rolls on a v-ish shaped body, I don't have a stocky build at all, average, neither stocky nor lanky. I don't know how hard it is to lose fat, I mean I eat a lot of bs lmfaooo. Slow metabolism yes, muscles not well defined yes. I mean I don't have that "short and bulky" appearance. My natural muscle insertions are similar to Iglesias/ sidharth (thin looking but wide shoulders and long thin hands and feet) but I am shorter 😭😭

@shipoopi well once you've actually started to lose weight instead of just talking about it, you should be able to tell exactly what body type you are. If you are indeed mesomorph you should lose that fat pretty quickly, if you struggle you're most likely endomorph. You're certainly not ectomorph because they can pretty much eat what they want, they are just not fat/skinnyfat/chubby/filler to begin with.

@shipoopi Human metabolic rates don't differ. "Fast metabolism" is an illusion -- the reality is a combination of (1) a more active lifestyle, in terms of both traditional "activity" and restless energy, and (2) lesser appetite.

Obviously no one is a PURE endo/ecto/meso... everyone is some combination. Those differences have to do with nutrient partitioning (= where yr body sends different kinds of macronutrients) and are mostly genetic, although they can be manipulated with dieting and drugs.

I lost two stone in weight. I went from 10st 6lbs to 8st 5lbs and all people have done over the last three years is criticise me for losing weight, some people have even asked me if I am ill etc, so no I would have liked to have been congratulated for losing weight.

I disagree. I think weight loss for many people is a challenge and, once accomplished, ought of be recognized and praised. You're totally valid for your feelings and thoughts on the subject but I think it's completely socially appropriate and acceptable to congratulate someone on a journey that probably took them at least several months to achieve. Weight loss is no easy fete.

Your examples make no sense. Why would you congratulate someone for surgically changing their height or eye color? Losing weight may have been easy for you but it's hard for most people and it's still an accomplishment.
