Demographically, politicians skew towards older ages than famous actors and musicians, and older people are more likely than younger people from things other than cancer.

Notice how I said "famous". The fame of actors and musicians fades over time, so only the deaths of younger actors and muscians make the news. E. g., who can name what Motown stars have died from?

Cancer might be related to the amount of time you spend sleeping. Just guessing. Active people live MUCH longer
