Do you run outside in the winter?

im about to go for a jog for the first time since August 🙄 because the sidewalks have been looking pretty clear and not icy.

Guy here. I run in winter. Lowest temperature I ever run was -20.
What you need is gloves and cap that protects ears.
Also for winter you totally need those tights clothing i mean compression long shirt and some running tights.

UA coldgear is great for it.

Really get running tights. You won't regret it. And you are girl so it's easier for you than for guys ;-)

Nah I joined a gym. It hurt my lungs too much to run outside in the cold.

Yeppers.
Tho one thing, YOU NEED gloves.
After 20-30 minutes , the fluid in your hands start gellifying and you can't use em no more. You'll find it difficult to even fish the keys out of your pocket.
Everything else is optional but gloves are a must.
(I run in -10C weather wearing an underarmor t-shirt , sweat pants and mountain shoes)

I've tried before, had to stop running because my lungs hurt so bad from the cold air. Walked back and coughed like I had pneumonia again all day lol. It's hard for me to run in the winter because I live out in the country and they don't plow my road often. There's still snow and ice fully covering it.

Yeah! I could NOT stop coughing it was terrible. I ran a mile and went inside and died with a coughing fit... before going to a gym and signing up and using the treadmill there for like an hour lol

Update: You inspired me to go run outside. I went out with all my gear on and it was alright, a bit of discomfort from the cold air and not running/working out in like a month+. On the way back the wind killed me, I had to stop multiple times because it was so cold and my face, neck, and thighs were freeezing. It's 20° F (-6.667°C)

I Walk in the Winter, and Yes... I get Snow in the Poconos.
For Years, I have been An Avid Walker to Be Fit and Stay Fit. However, I used to Run, hun, up the College Hill when I had Lived Upstate in the Summer Time.

Yep! I just dress for it. You need to be warmly dressed, but other than that it's just about picking a place without ice!

I like to run in the snow. but it becomes difficult after the snow gets to be over a foot deep. so then I snowshoe. you can't run well in snowshoes.

Yes, health and safety first. I live in the heart of London so its not too bad in the winter. If its been fosty and misty overnight, I will run later in the day or leave it if I feel I am going to be at risk.

But we got hit hard with snow in November and it's been icy and gross since then, til now.
