it bothers me when other girls do it, so I was just wondering if it was the same for guys.

It sounds like you are fishing for complements when ever you put down your appearance. No guy wants to hear someone complain. When a girl says "uugh I'm faat" or "I need to lose weight" you put the guy in an awkward situation. Either they say nothing or they say, "No you don't you're beautiful." Also when your girlfriends are complaining about their weight or their looks don't you get annoyed? No one, of any gender, wants to sit there and listen to someone complain about themselves. It's a turn off.. and annoying.

We see what we want to see in people and ourselves. If we second guess ourselves then how do we not expect others to do the same?

No one is perfect and if we want someone to accept us for who we are, it starts with ourselves.

It's called self esteem, it's a esteem of yourself.

My problem is that I need to GAIN weight.

But I don't necessarily complain about it, I just try to make jokes about how fat I am. (Sarcastically, I mean).

But considering that I don't like it when girls do it ALOT (A little is fine), the reverse is probably true as well.
