What to do for tongue piercing not to hurt?

I just got my tongue pierced yesterday...what can I eat for it not to hurt as much when I eat or when I speak?

Ice, no crispy crunchy foods, painkillers, cold drinks.

I was on slim fast drinks and vegetable broth when I got mine done, so I wasn't starving hungry. Plus try not to smoke too much and gargle with salt water after you've eaten anything or had a cigarette. Don't fiddle with it too much, and let it settle in naturally. Also make sure you use mouthwash when you brush your teeth, you want to keep your mouth as clean as possible while your piercing is still healing.

The first day I got my tongue pierced and the day after all I need was

Suck on Ice and drink Ice cold water. I also tried not to talk much.

I also tried to eat foods like applesauce and mashpotatoes that only required me to swallow.

By the 3rd day I was back to eating reg. foods although it was a bit uncomfortable.

I chewed slowly and chewed on the side.

Don't listen to the guys... They're just being brats. Take some anti-inflammatories, cold foods and liquids. Don't consume any dairy products, or things that are highly acidic (i.e. citrus fruits and spicy foods). Thankfully, piercings in your mouth are generally some of the fastest to heal, as long as you keep them clean and take good care of them. Good luck, and enjoy :)

When I got mine pierced I sucked on ice lollies and had ibuprofen, but it's going to be at least 3/4 days before you can eat and talk without any pain. (I ate mashed potatoe and gravy for those days) though after about a week I wouldn't worry about staying away from dairy, just clean it for abit longer after.

Try to eat a lot of ice-cream. Anything liquid. Anything cold. Make a soup and let it cool off.
