+1 yFor a girl who has been doing butt workout for a long time, here's what I conclude from the years of experience.
Freehand butt workouts are great for toning and can help to get it slightly bigger to an extent. But when you start doing workouts by using some kind of weight/resistance and keep increasing the weight to the heaviest ones that you are capable of doing, that will give really quick results.
Squats are good, but only squats isn't enough (still do them with weights though, gives crazy results). Hip thrust and kettlebell swing (not sure if that is the exact name) are really great workouts for the butt as well. They helped me a lot.
Make sure you eat a lot of protein while doing these workouts because your body will need it too build the glutes!
Additional tip: try getting a resistance band and use it to do butt workouts. Does a greater job at targeting the muscles on the side so it gives a much rounder bottom!00 Reply

Thank you! I used to think they were real. Very well done surgeries, but still fake.
+1 yEveryone says squats rubbish. They barely do your butt.
The two best exercises are donkeys kick ups.
And barbell weighted pelvic thrusts. This involves lying your back on a bench with your feet planted on the floor knees bent 90 degrees. Then place a bar with weights on over your pelvic area just under your hips. And thrust up and down without moving your feet. Best to do this at the side of a bench.82 Reply- +1 y

This!! No need to have equipment! Just do it for a longer length, like 4 sets of 30.

+1 y(I'll assume that you have little or no prior serious, focused exercise for your butt building.)
Thighs- stairclimbing. SImple, but effective.
Butt- "Donkey kickbacks" (sometimes just called kickbacks). "Rainbows" and "hydrants" are basically kickbacks done in varying angles, adding lateral or internal movements to the extension (kickback) motion. (you can do a quick search on the web for dozens of videos for these exercises.)
Lunges- straight or with some side motion added.
Squats- While they would certainly help, if you are just starting out, I tell my clients to wait a month or two to add them in until your glutes get used to the effort of exercises. They must be done in perfect (or near-perfect) form to be really effective. It would be worth it (IMO) to pay for one session of a personal trainer to make sure you have the form correct if your do them and to check your progress.
Don't forget to walk a few minutes to warm up before and after exercises and to stretch. Look for "The Wharton's Stretch Book", by Jim and Phil Wharton to give you most of the stretches you will ever need. Don't forget to see your doctor before starting a new exercise regime. Good luck.00 Reply 641 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I've been enjoying medicine ball lunges, squats, and a few weighted exercises. (on machines) you could always do weighted donkey kicks too at home.
also, I scrolled down and the guy saying hip thrusts is so right, they're really what I've seen almost every channel or workout page recommending00 Reply
+1 yCut down on back fat for a nicer profile back there with single leg glute bridges, and deadlifts in higher reps, sets of 3.
Squats, deadlifts, and lunges, glute bridges, cable kickbacks, and single leg movements. EASY on the cardio. Too much cardio flattens your body because it eats your gains..00 Reply
+1 yWrite this down. . And my name. So you can thank me later. Lol...
Buy bands. Not cheap ones from Target. Some good ones with resistance. It’s all you need to get you started. Go on Pinterest and get some band workouts on there or instagram and follow gymshark workouts. Believe me bands can get those flutes going. Once you’re ready for a gym pass weights can make the booty happen. Squats and dead lifts! >>>>00 Reply
+1 yYou can't make it much bigger without weights and resistance band. You need to increase the difficulty. as you get used to it.
Generally, bridges, kickbacks, deadlifts, squats, hydrant are good for glutes. But again,. you can start witbout weights, but once it is not difficult anymore you need to add weights and resistance bands.
Also, what you eat is highly important, you need to eat healthy, a lot of calories and protein.01 Reply- +1 y
If you want mostly the glute area I would avoid squats as in most people they work mostly the legs. It's very difficult to focus more on the glutes than legs with squats.
You can do different types of kickbacks. You can do the with ankle weights or tie the cable on your leg at the gym. Hydrant is a great option for the side of your glutes, I usually do it with resistance bands. Also, as someone suggested, hip thrusts or bridges if you sit in the floor are really good at targeting the glutes. I'd say that is the most difficult exercises for glutes, especially if you do it with only one leg at a time
Squats and deadlifts! Start with very low weights and get your form perfect. Then SLOWLY add weight each time. Make sure you're getting adequate rest between workouts as you build a better ass when you're resting, so over-training will hurt your gains.
00 ReplyDo barbell hip thrusts and eat more. Just don't eat bad food that has excessive added sugars and make sure you're getting enough complete protein. Make sure you really push yourself or you'll get no gains. Sumo deadlifts will also be a good exercise to do but make sure you have good form when executing it.
00 Replyyou don't need that
I mean if you have a saggy bottom then it is a different matter
I can recommend that you workout for the sake of being healthy, and a nice round butt will be just an extra without you concentrating on it !10 Reply
+1 ySquats, softball and volleyball. I don't know what it is about those two sports but they produce some of the THICCEST, roundest, most firm asses I've ever seen. (Don't let them dyke-ify you tho, i've heard rumors..."
10 ReplyImma just tell u this, if u have fat down there and not much musle, ur gonna loose that fat and its gonna make ur butt look smaller, but its actually butning the fat and building the muscle so you'll look more toned anyways.
00 ReplyI don't develop better if you're thin. But a little muscular workout can help develop better curves. Most simple one is compressing and relaxing the muscles. If nothing then there are certain clothes that flaunt curves such as tights and yoga pants
00 ReplyI used to think squats but I get a hell of a lot more burn out of deadlifts.
20 ReplyMy college girlfriend use to do that 'Buns of Steel' video 4-5 times a week... I promote that video every chance I get. VERY good results.
00 ReplyI once read that you can work every muscle in your butt by doing 3 exercises, squats, lunges, and jumping jacks. I know the squats and lunges will work your but, the jumping Jack's might but I think they are more so cardio, could be wrong though.

+1 yOk your best bet is doing squats. They are a pain in the ass when you finish working out but if done right you will get some results on your first month, plus you need some protein to get faster results.
