I voted for C because both types of those people are at my current gym, and some people are a combination of the 2 options. But in most cases, it seems like the people who are getting into fitness are only doing it for aesthetics or the wrong reasons. I mean it's not a problem but the thing is they're very impatient about it, they just want results ASAP, but at the same time don't want to put in the effort to learn or start with lower amount of weight and especially when they see seasoned lifters using a lot more weight than them, they want to use that amount too, so they try to rush their way up with bad form even more.
When things gets hard, and they feel doing research is too troublesome, they start to cut range of motion for each rep, they start to swing and flail dumbbells while rocking their torso back and forth, when they do lat pull downs or seated cable rows, they start forcefully lean all the way back and yanking on the cable attachment with a rounded upper back, they start to make excuses to justify why they have to do it that way. In the end they end up as one of the many idiotic gym bros with cringey form.

No one showed them how to lift properly though it's not exactly hard to find out, there are tons of websites out there that show proper usage of form for pretty much every exercise you could want.
I decided to become a personal trainer years ago and learn perfect form for virtually every exercise. So I got to help a lot of people with that when I was training folks hopefully they didn't slack off and still use proper form.
I guess no one told these people with bad form that the right amount of weight, pacing and perfect form actually builds more muscle properly then slinging around overly heavy weight mindlessly will especially if using bad form which will increase your risk of injury quite a bit.
The only other explanation to why they have bad form is because they do cross fitness.
They're too lazy/weak to use the correct form.
No one has ever offered to correct them (they'd rather make fun of them).
Some people just dont read directions.

As people progress many do get better in thier form
Been hiting the gym since 16 and let me say Im still learning something new ever flipping day.

Because they are in a hurry, or never had a decent trainer (for at least a few sessions) or both.
1. They are new because of a New Years resolution so they don't know what they are doing.
2. The people that work at the gym don't show people how to do things.
3. They are so concerned with looking cool by lifting a lot of weight, they pick more than they can actually lift.
4. They make the mistake of thinking power lifting is actually better than doing more reps with less weight when it is not as good in reality. They often make that mistake because that is what most gym employees tell people to do.Multiple reasons
1. Lack of good or any coaching
2. Lack of Knowledge-It takes a lot of time and a lot of mistakes to actually improve.
3. Lack of ability- some people are just not able to use proper form in some exercises due to lack of mobility. An example would be deep squats, for many people they are just physically impossible.
4. Crossfit. They don't know any better and you can't tell them shit. I used to try to help, and occasionally I still do; mostly to remind myself of why I don't. For the most part now, I just laugh and go back to lifting. They'll injure themselves soon enough and be out of everyone's way.
Many do not know what they are doing. I admit that is one of my biggest insecurities at the gym. Many guys hate it when women correct their form, but I personally do not mind if she knows what she is doing and if she is not doing it in a manner to try to purposefully embarass me
You must not be 20 yet. Once you reach the next maturity level, you stop worry about other people's flaws and worry about your own. This in turn helps you focus on your problems and fix them (as it is the only problems you have 100% control over). You cannot fix other's shit form... only your own. I mean, I'm sure you felt stupid once or twice when you tried to do a Overhead Press for the first time (that one still gets me to this day... Loving what it does to my shoulders though.)
Probably the majority is just bad form and lack of knowledge. Sometimes what looks like ego lifting is a genuine type of training though. For some motions where it's safe, a bit of momentum on the concentric to allow a heavier weight to be lifted than strict can actually be very effective as a form of eccentric overload (using momentum to handle more resistance on the concentric to then use strict form on the eccentric where we're generally stronger). A prime example is the cheat curl.
That’s why I try to stick to the weight machines because they have a picture of what you are supposed to be doing. Someday I will look at videos and expand my excercises but I am not really looking to be a body builder, I just want to be toned alittle bit.
I think there is a tendency to get into psyche competitions ever so gradually and then lose form. Too many mental issues hang at the gym and so I built my own private gym with all the machines and weights I need. Unfortunately, when I travel I have to workout in gyms so I just go at 3am to avoid the idiots.
As someone who started working out just months ago, I gotta say its kind of both. For example, I glanced on how to do a certain type of exercise and someone informed me that my form was wrong while I was doing it. He pointed out that my back should be straight and that the weight was probably too heavy for me. I was also a little bit concerned what others would think because I can only lift at a lower weight than them.
Now, after working out for a while, I don't care what people think of me at the gym. I know most gym-goers are just minding their own business and getting some reps in. I'm going to emphasize "most" due to your patronization of these people. Instead of poking fun at lifters with bad form on the internet, I suggest you should actually find a solution, not a stimulus for them to be anymore insecure. Maybe you can teach them how to do the exercises correctly, then it won't cause you to "cringe" as much.I don't see that many ego lifters at my gym and most people have decent form. However there are a few.
I have more of a problem with people not putting their weights away after they're done. Or people that's lifting weights and purposely making a lot of noise and dropping weights.
Like if you're going for a new pr I get it the weights heavy. But when you're making a ton of noise and dropping weights on every set starting from your warm up that gets pretty annoying. There's no such thing as a right form what we call "right form" is just an international standard of movement for competitions. Truth is there is no official way to move your body for squats that would be ridiculous it's like saying humans are supposed to walk backwards not forwards thats the right form for walking not it isn't forwards backwards side to side you name it. Squats are the same do whatever you want. Unless it's like the picture above it's fine.
I see this with guys all the time😂 I've even had them try to be cute and give me lifting techniques like bro, no! Im a certified pt, i actually know what im doing!!😂
I think some guys/girls just don't know what they are doing but you gotta give them an a for effort :)
I'd say what I see more of it people lifting too little weight, they'll pick something up and do like 2 reps a second and 30 reps. If you're lifting the right amount you shouldn't be able to do that! I don't pay attention to how much people are lifting because I don't care, but it's pretty obvious when it isn't even close to the right amount
Lots of people are misinformed. Oftentimes I see men who are bigger perform a shitty lift and then recommend "their better form" to other guys. Shocks me how lots can willingly accept it without caring to look into it.
Yeah, it's a combination of the first two reasons of the poll options.
Most people who do to the gym don’t balence there diet and don’t work out regularly if you work out regularly rather than niece or twice a week you will be in better shape along with healthier eating

Probably for just like you said, there are a bunch of people who think they know what they are doing, but really don't have a clue!
