How Do I stay Awke?

Ok, So about 2 hours ago, I was standing up from a squating position and hit my head against pretty hard on the side of my dresser that is lightly open. I feel reeally weird.. can barely see. I emidiently put an icepack on top. for about 20 minutes, trying to stay awake, because I kow you're suppose to stay awake after hitting your head real hard.

For starters you might have a slight concussion & if you are having problems with your vision you may want to seek medical attention & as soon as possible. If you have any q-tips at home swab your left ear & your right ear & look at the q-tip to see if there is any blood on it. In addition if you haven’t already pop a pill because you are going to have one hell of a headache if you don’t already have one. Look in the mirror as well. Are any of your eyes red or off colored in anyway? I wouldn’t advise driving for the next 24 to 48 hours & when you seek medical attention have a friend or family member take you.

As for getting medical attention I’m glad you are & I wish you well as well. Blood might look for an exit point when it comes to the brain & the odds are within the next few days one or both eyes will show it & it might actually look like someone punched you in the eye or eyes. Drink a lot of fluids & stick to water & most likely your going to start an IV drip to charge you up a little. Instead of a cold pack you might want switch to a heating pad to increase circulation after you use the cold pack to prevent inflammation.

You’ll be ok & from time to time we all need a little sense knocked into us. On a scale of one to ten how hard was the hit? In addition most likely your doctor will try to prescribe a pain killer & ask them about over the counter stuff instead. Also have them give you a doctors note because you my friend are taking a few days off of work. Rest up & most of all relax & feel better as well.

It's good that your condition is now under the supervision of doctors. Were they able to figure-out a diagnosis on the damage to you? Did they mention a range of healing-time for you?

Well, the good news is that I've seen reports of recovery possibly taking as little as 7days, but I've also seen reports of recovery possibly taking 3weeks (if the patient does not rest enough as needed and/or the symptoms are just so severe).

Oh, dear. I was lucky enough to had my family nearby who could help me, but conditions requiring weeks to recover are tough (even beyond just conquering the condition itself). Do you have any family nearby? Or do you go to a congregation? Unless you have a good deal of savings right now, I'm not sure how someone would survive a month or 2 without income unless family (or some other support-group) could help.

How is the pain: the sharp or dull type, focused or just there, steady or throbbing, continuous or recurring?
Perhaps, it would be good to verify with a medical-professional if any should be definitely recommended or avoided (if any) in your case, but I found an article on natural painkillers.

I'm sorry, it took me so long to messge back. I re-read that over and over and trying to figure out how to respond.

This head pain is always here, but, not extreme except for other times. I really don't know of another way of describing this head pain. When I have to bend forward to pick something up, or to get something, extreme pain - and not bending forward much.

I have chronic migraines, those are awful. This though, when it is extreme, feels way worse than a migraine. Late tonight, at 11:24pm, I took a t3, wow, I mean, wow... that truly helped so much! Much better than the torodol. The torodol helps a lot, but, doesn't take all that extreme pain away. Tonight it was even in my forehead now. I am massaging my head with my fingers. That helps, but, can't do it too long at once, until my fingers get too tired, which has been about an hour of doing that already.
