+1 yMy advice is to take small walks for 15 minutes a day or when it's daylight but make sure you do it in public areas, I do know that this Christian guy, Paul
Gaudino recommended this for me also do what you are able to do also you could slowly add minutes to the time you walk25 Reply- +1 y

For me it's all about starting, after that it's easy to do the next excercise. To start, I simply found an activity I enjoy even if it doesn't provide a benefit.
For me, just leaving a sword near my computer is enough to get me started. I pick it up multiple times a day. Sometimes for a few simple swings, sometimes it turns into an excercise to buildup my wrist and forearm strength. It involves the whole body as I have to step into a cut and rotate the body to make it effective. That makes it a great warmup excercise.
Once I am already moving, switching to stretching, weightlifting or whatever is much easier than thinking about it from the comfort of my chair.11 ReplyI'm not really sure what motivates me, I've just always been fit since childhood. I guess these days if I feel I've slipped a bit I notice it in my clothes and just step it up at the gym a bit. I don't go mad on it or anything, but I enjoy going to the gym, most weeks it 3 times, sometimes if it's a busier week it's just a couple of times. I don't drive so I walk a lot too and I love it, it feels nice to get out into the fresh air and into nature. Also at 45 I can look at myself in the mirror and be happy and confident in my body being as good as a healthy fit man in his early 20s. There is a feel good factor to it, but I don't know how I'd start from scratch if I wasn't already here.

It's just part of my life really, I could imagine not doing it. I guess there will come a day when I start to slow down but for now it's full steam ahead. Maybe you could find someone that also wants to exercise, it's always easier doing it with someone else for motivation, you can motivate eachother. When I go to the gym I normally have someone there I can workout with as I know most of the regulars and it helps is all to buddy up when we're working out. I'm not into extreme fitness or bodybuilding or anything like that, it's just to keep myself in shape and toned. I also swim most weeks, that's probably a good way to start off, get a friend to go with you once a week.
Having an actual setup works for me.
unfortunately I live with others which causes constant detours into setting up practicality for routines.
Closest I could get was spending about $200 to reorganize my room by adding in extra shelving space, and spending an innumerable amount of time reorganizing my belongings in order to have enough exercise space in my own room.
once you have the space from there itās about sticking to the kind of diet and exercise you want, and letting it become routine from there.11 ReplyExperience and a little effort into the planningā¦getting to the workout is the biggest hurdle usually. Once Iām there Iām in. I follow an easy routine of warm up and dynamic stretchesā¦than the workoutā¦cool down and maybe some static stretches and then fuel and rest. I vary the workout so I donāt get bored too. Long day hike, day of swimming, just yoga, rock climbing, skiing, body weight stuff, I mean itās a lot of mentality so thatās where a lot of the drive comes from. For instance, it can hurt in the beginning and sometimes you want to quit from the pain, but after a month or two you are exponentially more conditioned and that alone is worth it. Leaving your past self in the dust without even noticing.
11 ReplyI usually look at myself in the mirror and look at cute clothes.
My bestie and i talk and review results of how our bodies look and what we each prefer doing as well.
We both have similar taste in style so when we meet once every two years or so we hype each other up, lol.21 Reply468 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I don't care what it is in life it is if we don't want to do it the first step is the hardest followed by the second step. Basically it's just you have to want it more than not wanted is that simple if you were to walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days I guarantee you within one week went one and a half weeks your body would crave it because you're breathing new fresh air in you're clearing your mind and you're getting motivated and within 30 days actually sooner you can see the change in your money but you have to walk at a fast-paced 30 minutes a day for 30 days
10 ReplyStart out slowly, start walking for 20 minutes then increase your time by 10-minute increments when you're ready. Then you can start with a light jog and as you get used to it, (remember, it's no how fast you go, it's how far you go), you can increase your time. Once you've gotten used to using those muscles it will be easier to motivate yourself.
31 ReplySet myself a goal that I must complete or take some sort of punishment (mental, not physical. Such as not reading new book until I finish my exercise debt,...).
Like I do pushups every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and If I fail then no treats for me.12 ReplyAs a man I always motivate myself as taking example from Ancient Warriors, I like the times when pyhsical strenght was more of a thing. I workout to be like them, I motivate myself with having the knowledge of men are supposed to protect their loved ones, thats our natural duty to protect our people, tribe and country. Whenever I see myself capable of doing it then I feel more proud about myself and like to workout more.
About women, you can workout to be more aestethic and look pretty.. that will do ; )10 Reply- 1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yI exercise daily.
It's simply about always doing what feels okay for you, but always doing something.
The paradox is that the more you do, the more you want to improve at it. Cause you see the progress.
Then what becomes hard is not doing it.19 Reply- +1 y

@Interstate Yes, Iām really anticipating the point lol.

There's not such point, really.
It's just about doing something, whatever it is. Just by doing consistently you are instantly better off than 90% of people. - +1 y

@Interstate So what is all this about?
- +1 y
It was in response to Flower7. The first time I attempted to attach it, it wouldn't open in post. It only left a link. That is one thing I hate about this site! You can't delete, and there is no reason for that. If you have a fowl up in a post, you should be able to delete it and start anew. I guess the GAG administrators got together and and seconded a motion that it would make sense to be able to delete your own post to avoid issues or confusion š

@Interstate Most likely the reason is for easing moderation.

If You Workout You Can Have More Donuts. 31 Reply Date someone VERY out of your league and let your insecurities manifest an envious need in you to prove to everyone that itās not just your personality that is attractive. Youāll never run out of motivation and still you wonāt satisfy your insecurities no matter how good you start to look because you and everyone will always measure you up to your extremely attractive partner :/
10 ReplyI feel motivated to exercise because I love it. I get motivated from the results I get from exercising. The miles covered from a run and muscle gain are additional motivators.
The fact that regular exercising is great for brain and cardiac health and can starve off onset of many diseases is another motivator.10 Reply- 905 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yIn my 30s, I bloated 50+ pounds into a "lard butt" and I couldn't stand what I saw in the mirror any longer. Before all that, I was athletically fit & sexy in my 20s. I made it a goal to try and recapture my old glory and maybe even better. Nowadays, I'm very happy with the results of my workouts. I may be much older now but I feel healthier than ever.

Listen to upbeat music that gets you moving
Break your exercise routine down into small, manageable chunks
See if you can join an exercise club and make friends
Be patient with yourself but also see how you progress11 Reply
+1 yI exercise every day and have been like this for over 20 years now. It might be cardio one day, calisthenics the next or weights. But I always do something.
Itās not just about looking good but itās for mental health. Itās a stress relief for me.10 ReplyFor me works putting music on the background and moving to the rythm of the music. Also, I don't count anymore how calories I burn, I just run for specific amounts of time.
13 ReplyI really fell in love with jujitsu. It turns out that I basically don't care about looking good to women. My health is important, I guess, but I don't really feel very immediately compelled to do anything about it. It would be nice to wear slimmer fit clothing, but again; it's clothing, so whatever.
And then I found jujitsu. I love jujitsu. I want to be good at jujitsu. To be good at jujitsu, I need to be slimmer, so that's what I'm doing.10 ReplyThere are many. have been from the start.
Right now is it mostly to feel better mentally and physically and I have been doing it for so long that I just do it like going to the toilet apart of the worst down moment there I must do it to get better.
It's pretty tricky to not overdo it and create health issues. can't go on like I did before the whole health circus started.10 Reply
+1 yThe first couple of months, I had no motivation but pushing myself even if it killed me.
But now after about a year, the results are what motivate me, I'm looking sexier and sexier and at this point there's no stopping it, the confidence and ego boosts and how it's all helping me push harder and farther in life are too much for me to stop.10 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I recommend that you adopt other highly valued activities where exercise consistency is important for their success. Actions that will assist and/or justify your efforts. And if you don't highly value exercise in the first place, I'd recommend doing a lot of research for the benefits of it. It will be less of a burden if you can find a way to love the journey.
00 ReplyI do it because I can't stop anymore once you start and countinue at leats 5 times a week its a part of your life i guess. Also its good for realiving stress. But my main reason is to look atractive to the opposite sex.
32 ReplyListen to stories of people with diabetes losing their sight, or feeling in their legs and unable to walk/drive. Or people dying in their 50s from heart disease.
Avoiding bad fates like that are some of the things that motivate me when I don't feel like exercising for a while.00 Reply4.8K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I think of how much better I feel after a workout. Also if I do not lose some weight I might have to go on blood pressure meds.

+1 yI think its just seeing the positive changes in my body over time, and understanding that consistency is key. I know that if I stop, my body won't look the same. Motivation isn't always enough, its more about self discipline. Setting yourself goal, and sticking to it. Exercising puts me in a better mood too. It's helped with my depression a lot

And with a vision like that it can pave a way for one guy called "dedication" into your life.10 ReplyBad past experiences that would've been prevented if I was fit and good at fighting.
