Will my bra size decrease?

I need to lose weight. I am currently 220lbs and 5'4. My plan is to diet and get Bariatric surgery. But I wondered if my bra size will get smaller, too. I'm currently a 36DD. Should I invest in new bras that are my current size or wait until I lose some weight?

Even if somehow your breasts stay the same volume. Your chest circumference will decrease with weight loss. If you need new bras now. Get something cheap like Hanes. So, you don't feel too bad when you have to toss them. You'll probably also be going through a few sets as your size decreases. As they'll keep getting loose.

It's very possible.
When you gain weight you gain it everywhere, so it is only logical that you would lose weight everywhere.

Yes it may but if I was you, I wouldn’t invest in bras right now. Wait till you settle in your new weight then look for some new ones. I hope your weight loss journey goes well :)

Firstly, are you sure you're a 36DD (the reason I ask is because it's a size that people are very commonly incorrectly fitted in)

Thanks for pointing that out. I was measured at Victoria Secret and was last told I was a 36DD. But notice my books spill over on the sides sometimes. Then weirdly in other cases if there is no lift/push-up I'll be left with space at the top. So, I don't know this point. I have more like tear drop boobs vs perky.

Victoria's Secret are notorious for fitting incorrectly, and going by what you described this sounds like the case. Those were exactly the problems I had before I measured myself and found my true size. Some bras seemed too small and had spillage, other bras seemed too big with gaps at the top. If I were you, I'd try a reliable bra size calculator - either boob or bust, abrathatfits or mybrasizecalculator. com - abrathatfits is the best in my opinion.

Yes your breast are basically fat to a extent. Your chest will be slightly smaller
