No you should definitely put them on a diet it will save them from health problems down the line. Also get them out for some exercise

Good post. You know I think parents have to look at themselves. You have to be what you want your child to be. It has to be a lifestyle not a diet.

Everyone should be on a diet. Also fat kids are the victims of child abuse.

Put her in a diet. Most morbidly obese adults started off as morbidly obese children and the longer someone is morbidly obese the less chance they have of losing the weight

Kids need to eat healthy food and get exercise. Americans do very little of each and that’s why as a nation we have an epidemic of diabetes and obesity.

Children’s nutrition is important. Sometimes a diet might be necessary but prevention is always better than cure that means balanced meals and physical activities for they’re physical health.

Course not. A diet definitionally is just what you eat everyday, bad diet or good diet. A good parent should be giving good diets to children.

No. Eating healthy food must not be seen as a punishment. A well a lanced diet that includes all sorts of foods in the right amounts is the best

I think you should teach a kid eat healthy at a young age. But don’t wanna scare child from eating to point the throw up after eating.

Depends how extreme the problem is, but for a child the "normal food quantities"-diet should be good enough.

Probably safe to say she was under 5'10' as a 13-15 year old, and any shorter at that weight you are either a bodybuilder or getting into the fat zone.

Well if you’re 180 lbs I’m sorry you feel offended but no child should be 180 lbs at the age of 13 which I was. And @zeitgeist057 is right… I’m only 5’0ft. 180 lbs is quite fat if you aren’t tall.

At 13 I was like 5'8 and 160ibs. I was very muscular and thats within healthy weight for the height. 180 would be overweight but def not very fat.
I remember being 9, 5'4 and 125ibs. Because everyone based weight on age rather than height it caused a lot of body issues for me as a child. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. 180 is very fat for 5ft. But I think its good to clarify weight with height, as a child or adult. If I said that I was deathly thin at 120ibs people would be confused af lol. Just something to think about is all. Definitely agree with you on everything. Especially being so under average height, it gives people a better idea of what 180 looks like on you. 180 at 5ft is vastly more dangerous than 180 at 5'4 even, while at 5'10 180 could easily be healthy. Even if 180 at 58 is overweight, it's not fat. That's the only point I was meaning.

5’8 is pretty tall compared to 5’0 ft. I said very fat because 187 lbs is very fat for my age and obviously my height at the time. I was morbidly obese and I’m so glad I lost all the weight. I don't know how tall my niece is but I do know that if we don’t get her weight under control now she could be fat going into her teenage years and she’s already getting picked on now. I can’t imagine how it’ll be for her in highschool.

@ragooo8 That is my opinion based on the parenting I have seen. Most can't take care of them selves much less a child. Anyone going on a diet should consult there doctor.
