Can you have your parents leave the room in a doctors office even if they don’t want to?

I’m 16 and I have had a conversation about my mom leaving the room when I go to the doctor she denied and said she did not want to leave the room and if she requested to be in the room she can, and I want to talk to my doctor about private information but is what she saying true?

It is my understanding that you are entitled to your privacy with your doctor. Of course, you mother may refuse to let you be with a doctor that would refuse to allow her in. I believe that 16 is a bit of a magic age in all states and you are allowed to see the doctor without your mother present.

Yea if you are underage then your mother is responsible for you and legally she has power over you until you are 18, tbh there's many things against you in this scenario, just tell your doctor.

Depends on where you live, but my mom was with me at that age, once your 18 they don't have to be with you in the doctor office.

You should be able to have privacy with the doctor, hey talk to the office manager, tell them their breaking the Hippa law
