High potassium level 5.9?

Hi everyone my potassium levels are currently rather high at a 5.9 I read that anything over 6.0 you should seek medical attention. Should I wait until Monday so I can contact my doctor or go to the ER.

Presumably your dr is aware of your test results so I would think that if it was dangerous enough to merit immediate medical attention, they would have told you as much. That said, I would ask a medical professional if this is something that you should come in for. If you have symptoms of hyperkalemia eg. muscle weakness/pain, chest pain/rapid or irregular heart beats, nausea/vomiting or abdominal/belly pain then yes I would seek medical attention. A constellation of symptoms. eg. nausea chest pain/irregular heart beats is especially ER worthy.

I’m not a doctor but would altering your PH profile work?

I don't have a clue what a PH profile is or how to alter it so I'm going to say probably not. Im just wondering if my situation is serious enough to go to the emergency room or not.
