Do you eat three square meals a day?

I prefer not to plan my meals so much and go by my desires and eat until I am full (sometimes happens that I eat too much if there is a lot of delicious food xp). That means I don't have a set number of meals per day, with days I barely eat and others where I seem to eat the whole day :D.
I have been the same weight for like 15 years, and my digestive system is rarely 'off' so my natural eating instincts work well. So happy about this because I know many people struggle with food in this modern world.
You listen to your body then.
yes, and luckily it does not grave a lot of fat and sugar like some others who then cannot control it.
Yes, I've gotten a sweet tooth after falling majorly into carb and sugar stress eating from being in an abusive marriage and juggling really boisterous young kids. I have to retrain myself.
No, I only eat breakfast and lunch. Dinner only once a week.
That is how I control my weight and stay healthy, as you say Ms DP :)
I'm intrigued. Do you feel hungry? Are you eating really nutrient dense food? Keeping the heavisest meal before 3 pm is a great weight management tool.
Yes, it sounds like you know the secrets.
As far as hungry, your body will become accustomed to whatever routine you get into, so at first the late day hunger will be there but after a week or two it will be gone.
There is a special drink that I do when I first get home that will stop any cravings.
Yes, I eat all organic foods at home and as much as possible when on the road.
Special drink! I am more of a morning "faster". So lunch and dinner are my meals. It works for my body. Paleo worked really well for me but I love carbs.
Don't we all... lol
Rarely. I typically start off by making lots of coffee. After drinking 12-24 oz of that, I might have a blueberry muffin with butter or an apple puff pastry in the late morning. Maybe have a banana for a snack a bit later. In mid afternoon, I might have a sandwich. Then I have a full dinner between 7:00 and 8:00 when my wife gets home. I'll have a couple of cookies or something later for dessert. I usually go to bed around 2:30am.
Very similar to me
Yes, i get little milk cravings too. I guess the ruchness of the texture is so satisfying that it curbs any little craving to eat.
Of course less is more, of course we had the three course meal a day in Western health because we USED to be more physically active, soldiers in the 18th century ate a pound of beef for dinner and did rigorous exercise, the three course meal doesn't apply well when there's no rigorous work we're doing yet

Nope, I never ate breakfast even as a child.
Eating is among the last things I want to do early in the day.
Back when I was in high school my first meal of the day was around 4 pm once I got back home from school, and it kind of carried over for me into adulthood, as I don't eat anything before 2pm nowadays.
Me tooooo. Breakfast is the most annoying meal. My stomach can only takemliquids and doesn't even opennup until 10-10:30. But I can't skip lunch. I love lunch.
Not really and a lot of times it comes down to how busy I am. Some days breakfast is the only meal I eat. But I do tend to drink a lot of water, tea and other liquids through out the day and eat small snacks through out the day as well. So the small snacks might add up to a meal in themselves. Also I don't get to hungry due to my high liquid intake.
I would say our kids eat three squares a day because we always have a nice breakfast that my husband prepares that I generally don’t participate in. They always have a lunch packed and then we usually make a nice dinner. I think my husband and I graze in small amounts throughout the day. He definitely eats two full meals a day and I’m probably at one and a half.
God almighty, I feel like a right fat bastard here. I have at least 3 meals and then a whole bunch of other meals.
Although I weigh next to nothing and have a six pack =/
Nope, not anymore.Generally, I eat 1 proper meal a day, with some snacks sometimes. Then, I have ≥24hr-fast days scattered here & there.
I hear you. I just finished Ramadan which isn't a 24 hour fast but a complete fast. I always get a mega jump in mental clarity from the absention.
Kudos to you!
From what I read, Ramadan-related fasts include water. But water is what I take on my fasts. More power to you!
It is interesting that it's in a lack of food that we operate better, contrary to human pre-concieved notions. I'm glad the ancient wisdom of fasting has been re-discovered.
No no no. No food, drink or sex from daybreak to sunset. That was very incorrect info you got.
Muslims have always been doing Ramadan so it isn't really a rediscovery for us. And thanks! l for the kudos 🙏🏾
Nah. Even if I'm being health-conscious, I eat for whatever fuel my body needs. Which is comprised of however many meals or snacks will fill my caloric & nutrient goals.
Oh, so you're a calorie counter?
No. Usually don't need to or I just don't. Two a day with some protein to it and I'll be good for a while. Unless I had too much protien, don't approach me. For your own safety.
Oh my. I'm shaking in my cross trainers.
I wish I could, a lot of times I squeeze in a muffin in the moring, maybe a sandwich and chips at lunch and some kind of full meal at supper. Some days I'm lucky if I can't eat twice during the day.
Can't or can eat twice?
oops can eat twice, yeah, sometimes I'm lucky if I can eat twice a day.
i eat two meals, usually lunch and dinner as i do not get hungry in the morning
sometimes i have a snack between them but not always
Yes, I can only have a liquid breakfast. Either smoothie or coffee.
No I eat 5-6 meals usually and if I’m cutting for comp but sizes of the meals can either be regular or small and space then out. If I’m bulking then I’ll eat as many as 8 big meals which is as much of a pain as it sounds and meal plans are fixed but hey it helps the digestive system stay on track
Never really got the whole, breakfast, lunch dinner thing except growing up as a kid
3-4 meals a day depending on my energy levels. Li ch is usually where I pig out the most
Yes I'm big on lunch as well.
not if im anxious. if im not anxious; then yeah; i eat 3 meals a day
Yes, Ihad this issue. Do you have a high caffeine intake?
yeah; i do. however, its not the caffeine that is making me anxious; i recently went through something traumatic.
I wish you healing. Actually caffeine can contribute to it. Also causes adrenal fatigue. Adrenal fatigue causes nervoussness, fidgeting and other things that manifest in anxious people. It may help to lower your intake along with healthy coping mechanisms to help you through this trauma you experienced. It helped me. 💙
For lunch I had a sliced sausage on a round bun. Does that count?
Yes, that's a meal.
Maybe one meal. If I have time which I often do not.
Oh... intriguing. Why?
As a doctor? Spy? Fireman? Assassin?
Gasp! My son struggles with dysgraphia.
That must be reallllly interesting.
Nope! I'm basically down to OMAD. It's more like 1.5 meals.
OMAD?
Yes I just realized. I'm bad with acronyms.
I don’t really eat lunch, except recently at school I grab an apple every day for lunch but some days I’m not hungry enough for one. On weekends I eat no lunch at all.
I don't know how square my meals are. But I have to have breakfast and lunch. Sometimes dinner is light. And I need some kind of snack to keep my energy up between meals, esp if I'm being particularly active that day.
Nope, sometimes I skip breakfast or lunch and just eat dinner
And sometimes I just snack through out the day
Well, technically, anytime you're not eating, you're fasting. The main thing is just a matter of minding and managing the time-gaps. (On the specifics of what can/can't be consumed during them, there are many a regimen with the best depending on objectives.) If ever you decide to get into it (probably during your adult years, when even more data is available), just make sure you get your guidelines, schedules, etc. make your source is a medical professional (ex. my source the book & videos of Dr. Jason Fung), just to be safe.
Other than that, the best to you, then. And take care of your health!
I usually just eat twice a day, and it isn't all that much.
I do sometimes but I only had dinner today. I had to fast for a blood test and then I got too busy for lunch.
More like two full meals and random stuff in between
Three meals a day used to only be the norm for hard labourers.
It used to be that the well off just ate brunch and dinner.
i try ro eat 2 or 1 at the most a day unless working out
I run on a very messed up schedule rn, so I'm lucky if i two meals a day. Most days I just eat one.
I eat 2 meals a day and multiple snacks. I do it for weight control cause I love breakfast but don’t eat it.
Closer to 4.
Breakfast, Lunch, snack, and dinner.
Hah! No! the amount of salt and sugar in everything is ridiculously high. I manage my nutritional intake through a nutritional drink and a single large meal
No, I usually eat around noon and something light around 6
Nope. I usually eat one meal a day. Occasionally two meals a day if I'm hungry.
Just to keep your back straight. 😏
Not usually, I try to stick to two meals a day if I feel like any was a bit too much.
No I stop eating breakfast when I was 15
Yeah breakfast is so annoying.
no sometimes i eat round one LOL mostly 2. sometimes only one
Most of the time only one 😅
No, I just eat when I'm hungry.
This is a good strategy.
Unless you are always hungry then that's an issue.
no mine are mostly on a round plate, but some do come in a box first, so yes and no
No unfortunately my plates are round.
You can put a square meal on a round plate.
6 if you include my girlfriend 😀 so you could say I eat plenty at home 🥧
Time flies and only eat 2.
No 1.5 and graze the rest
Not always. Some days I don't eat at all, like today
Why didn't you eat at all?
Awww. 😔
Yes most days I eat 3 meals.
Yes, that's my aim every day.
