I take a more IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) approach, so it can definitely vary.
It can be 1 meal a day, it can be 6 meals a day—it all depends on whether or not I’m consuming the nutrients I planned to consume that day.
I’ve also done prolonged fasts before (24+ hour fasts), but with those I have a clear goal in mind as well as a clear entering and exiting strategy.
I usually gauge how a diet is going based on my performance in the gym, my energy levels, and my mental clarity. Whatever diet shifts I make should optimize those three.
On most days though, I usually go with 1-2 meals. 🤙
Counting my mid-morning, mid-afternoon and nighttime snacks as meals, I eat 6 meals a day. I almost always eat a light breakfast, medium lunch, and medium dinner in addition to the snacks.
I've found that eating many smaller meals is better than eating two or three huge meals... gives your body time to digest the food without becoming bloated.
It varies- depends on my activity level, mood, weight, and how busy I am. I'd say an average of 2-3 meals a day.
For example, today I'm probably only going to have two meals: lunch and dinner. I skipped breakfast because I slept in late and wasn't hungry until almost 1pm. However, I workout a lot, so if I have a strenuous workout, I may snack or eat more meals.
Once. Sometimes it’s just incredibly small portions and then I’ll eat twice in a day. So like a small jar of chia seeds soaked in almond milk with cinnamon and honey and then later on I’ll have a bell pepper with pesto. That’s what I’ve been eating most days, the past week, some days I’ve not eaten anything.
The older I get, the less I need to eat. And I prefer a large meal before bed. No breakfast and a small lunch if any, basically a snack. However on a heavy days labor I’ll get ravenous after about 6 hours or 12+miles into a hike. Normal activity only needs one meal
That makes sense. I'm almost the opposite. 😂 I can't go to bed on a full stomach and I get hungrier of I'm inactive. I usually have a small snack late morning and my meal late afternoon.
Lots of people want to wait after eating… I’m like an alpha predator, stalk my prey for a day or two, attack it after a long chase, Gorge myself, and pass out stuffed next to the carcass… 😁😁😁
twice: lunch and dinner. sometimes i have a small snack or a caloric beverage in between and usually i have a small dessert right after dinner. i also focus on eating at least 100g of protein every day
1-3 I like two meals honestly. Breakfast in the morning means an hour of waking up earlier. So instead I drink so so so so so so so so so so so much water. I also like the mindset of working for my food. So I get stuff done and then I get to eat.
Today I had ham and eggs for breakfast, followed by a slice of cold pizza, then a ham and cheese sandwich wrapped in lettuce (no bread), followed by a bowl of chili.
On the bright side im getting super lean this really pretty girl at Walmart was blushing when I asked her where the pico de gallo was I think I’m more attractive than I thought I was now that I’m slimming down
