Should I stretch before starting my workouts?

I think dynamic stretches are okay.
But I think it's more important to warm up.
I separate the two.
I do my strength training, with some warming up that includes light versions of the exercises.
And then at another time I work on stretching, releasing and mobility, with some bits of yoga and other things I have picked up. Stretching can take half an hour or more so it's more efficient time wise also.
But I agree with the fellow below. My understanding if that it's not good for you to stretch before a work out. Especially deep protracted stretches.
You warm up first. Warm up the muscles. Then you stretch. Then you workout. After your workout you stretch.
You should stretch after properly warming up the body and muscles. It will minimize the risk of injury.
Never stretch a cold body. I used to do bodybuilding and I am a Marine Corps veteran and we always stretched after warming up the body but before the actual workout.
Make sure to hydrate the night before the workout too. Drinking too much water right before can induce acid reflux.
Of course beautiful! Now go get your sweat on!
I think I will try to hit the gym this morning too.
Thank you for most helpful girl! ✨
We have twenty min of all kinds of intense stretching before every taekwondo class. Injuries happen to those who arrive late.

No, you should not stretch before a workout.
Research shows that static stretching not only doesn't help, it actually achieves the total opposite of what is claimed to do: it raises the risk of injury and lowers muscle performance.
If anything at all, you should have a low intensity dynamic warmup before your workout.
These aren’t really the stretches you want to be doing. They do not prevent injuries either. These aren’t very specific to your workout and are missing the big picture. You want your warm up to reflect the main thing you are doing at the gym. You can YouTube “dynamic warm up for (whatever your main activity is at the gym)”
Yes it does because it helps your body prepare for the workout a head by warming up your muscles, bands and sinews.
That way you reduce a risk of getting injured later on.
Yes always do that it warms your muscles up it stretches them it will keep you healthier as you keep getting older and older always warm up with anything and everything you do

less chances of getting injured if you’re all warmed up and stretched out
Yes, you should be warmed up and stretch before getting into a workout.
Don't stretch, warm up. Stretching loosens joints and muscles to the point they'll injure faster. Warming up, gets the muscles and joints ready to work better and harder.
Yes, you should. Stretching can help prevent injuries.
Parts of your body from being injured in your workout routine.
yes it is important to warm up, avoid strains and pulled muscles...
For sure, especially as you get older you will realize that it prevents muscleache and injuries.
