How to get over physical and emotional abuse?

I'm seeing a therapist but he doesn't talk much. He only prescribes medications. I live with my abuser (there is no other option). It hurts every time I see him.

I think someone must distance themselves from the person like their life depends on it. Because if someone's affecting someone's physical & emotional state that much, then it just might. Of course, it won't instantly make you over it, but it will provide a better environment to get over it.

Can't you leave him or distance yourself from him? I think it would be better... try to get all your emotions out ( anger, sadness, crying, screaming) with the therapist, try to talk to your friends, they may help... I think by staying away from him, going out a lot, talking with your friends and therapist will make you feel better by time... I know this is so hard and I hope you feel better soon

Then take a bus. Seriously you need to change your situation. You can't get over trauma while it's occuring.
