Does the landlord cut the grass or do I?

I have a lease and it doesn’t say anything about cutting the grass. I’ve been here over a year now and my lease is done. She told me verbally that i have to cut the backyard. I don’t see it in the lease. Does that mean I have to cut the grass? I don’t have enough arm strength to start the lawnmower and the landlord is stressing me out. I need advice please.

Is it a house? If renting a house, it's yours. If it's an apartment though, their responsibility. And if she told you that you'd be responsible for it, then you are I guess (ie, they can make the rules). Have you tried talking to her more about it (ie saying that you have a hard time with it and can't? Ask if she can or find someone that can?).

I’d imagine it depends on the specific laws of where u live. If ur curious I’d suggest contacting a lawyer. U can generally always get some basic info out of them before paying anything. No one else is going to be able to answer this question.

Generally, whether you're renting a house or apartment or whatever, it's expected that when you leave, it looks the way it was when you moved in. I'd say cut the grass.

If it’s not in the lease you don’t have to do it, if she withholds part of the deposit you can file in small claims court. Before you leave take pictures of EVERYTHING — walls, carpet, floors, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.

It's legally your responsibility to care for the property, including the yard. I suggest you start working out if you're that weak.
